All bears are hand made. The fur is made of mohair. They are in the style of bears of yesteryear. They are jointed except for some very small bears. The eyes are glass eyes or French Boot Button eyes. The paws can be wood felt or rexine but I have not strayed far from this, due to tradition. I was educated in the Midlands and completed a four year Honours Degree in Fine Art. This was followed by a years post graduate in specialist teaching, obtaining a Distinction. I then spent twenty nine years as a Police Officer, spending many years investigating Major and Serious crime, plus holding a position of Antique Liaison Officer for the Force. My first love was always the arts and crafts and now I am retired from Police work, I can indulge in my obsession with teddy Bears.

With regard to commissions, no request is impossible. I make all my own bears and related items and therefore any task is met with relish and open to discussion. I have undertaken many commissions, some unusual and some traditional. I have made coloured bears, where the mohair is dyed to a specification and I have copied old photographs for anniversaries, matching the images with bears.

Have you always wanted to make a bear? I can show you how. The bear you will make,is an 8 inch, fully jointed bundle of joy, made with 100% mohair. The eyes are boot button eyes and the joints are cotter pin. This course is a one day course, starting at 08.30am and ending when your bear has life. The date is up to you, you pick a date and I will try and match it. The course is 95. And you are guaranteed to leave with a bear. Obviously some basic stitchery is required but nothing too complicated.
