SmitaServesYouRight

In pursuit of gustatory pleasure! As most of you know, I will be moving soon. I'm travelling light. I am excited! And a little sad. There are things about my life in Rochester that I will let go of with great reluctance. I wish I could capture this sense of peace and equilibrium, put it into a bottle and keep it by my side! Coupled with this reluctance, like George Sheehan said, there is also "the desire to secure the self yet to be.". Picture: The Chokilait maestro in Melbourne. Is not enough temptation!

SmitaServesYouRight: Healthy hummus and seductive sangria!

http://smitaservesyouright.blogspot.com/2007/07/healthy-hummus-and-seductive-sangria.html

In pursuit of gustatory pleasure! Healthy hummus and seductive sangria! Summer holds us in thrall - a judicious mix of rain and blistering sunshine prevails. I've turned to Sangria for refuge. I asked for Sangria at a few restaurants in my whirlwind travels over the last couple months but drew blanks. I took this as a sign and made my own pitcher of sangria! Heres what I did:. Judicious sipping at regular intervals suggests that the sangria is ready in four hours . and gone in about 48 hours! Actually I ...

SmitaServesYouRight: Passionfruit Sherry Sorbet

http://smitaservesyouright.blogspot.com/2008/06/passionfruit-sherry-sorbet.html

In pursuit of gustatory pleasure! Remember the heat wave that baked much of the northeast in a couple weeks ago June? It drove me to seek relief in the arms of this sorbet. A quick raid of the fridge for fruit / fruit-like ingredients yielded. Some sherry on hand. Especially the part where she said, "Alcohol is your friend"! Heres what I did:. 1 Dissolved one third cup sugar in half a cup of passion fruit pulp. Diluted it with a quarter cup water. 2 Warmed it in the microwave to get everything to dissolve.

In pursuit of gustatory pleasure! While I am quite terrible at math, the one thing I quite enjoyed in calculus was finding derivatives. This business of examining stuff over infinitesimally small intervals is intriguing. Fabulous, no! Life is perfect and makes complete sense in infinitesimally small intervals. Bliss, gentle reader, exists in small bites. Such is the tale of dimunitive delights featured above. The spicy, piquant goodness that we know as muthias. Heres what I did:. See you at the round-up!

Sharing Ideas and Inspiration on Travel and Cooking. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Anyhow, the screening started at 7:30pm and I did not have a chance to eat before, so I was starving throughout the films! And so, while the films were playing, my hungry tummy could not help but conjure up images of food! I thought about chicken saag a lot for some reason. This is how I made it. 3 skinless and boneless chicken breasts washed and chopped into about 1 inch pieces. 1 package of chopped frozen picture. I am send...

Sharing Ideas and Inspiration on Travel and Cooking. Sunday, June 22, 2008. My brother sent me a link to this article mentioning the arrival of Indian Alphonso Mangoes in the US. http:/ nymag.com/daily/food/2008/06/king of all mangoes returns th.html. They were to be available in select Food Emporiums, including one right by me. Traveling Tummy: Upma: A quick meal for those hectic days!

http://travelingtummy.blogspot.com/2008/06/upma-quick-meal-for-those-hectic-days.html

Sharing Ideas and Inspiration on Travel and Cooking. Sunday, June 22, 2008. Upma: A quick meal for those hectic days! We would usually eat Upma at home for breakfast and also for tea. But I made some for dinner. It is quick and simple and you can put in whatever vegetables you have on hand. Upma is made by roasting sooji, which is semolina, although semolina is finer than sooji, which makes this Upma a lot creamier in texture. 1 tablespoon olive oil. 1/2 an onion chopped. 1/4 cup frozen peas. Whats for L...

http://travelingtummy.blogspot.com/2008/06/taco-nights-get-makeover.html

Sharing Ideas and Inspiration on Travel and Cooking. Saturday, June 28, 2008. Taco Nights get a Makeover! One of the first things that LWTT made for me were Tacos, and soon we would have Taco Night every now and then. While the tacos were great, they were usually from a "taco dinner kit" and reading all the unnecessary items on the ingredients list would give me heart palpitations, so I was on the look out for a healthier option. Overall a great meal, and from now on some what Healthier Taco Nights!
