Saturday, March 19, 2011. I recently did a presentation to the junior illustrators at the University of the Arts, where my good pal Chris Patchell. Teaches. The presentation began with talking about my studio, schedule and projects, but it also included this image tiling of influences on my work. Show, this one's theme is Hallowed Halloween. 32 artists giving their take on all things Halloween with a focus on the traditional roots of the holiday- i.e. no Monster Squad. Tribute pieces. Friday, July 30, 2010. Regarding the image, AD Robyn John wanted a cast of dogs spilling from all parts of this house, seemingly left to fend for themselves. I tried to make the place look cold and dingy – my experience with Philadelphia apartments informed that part quite a bit. The image sans design. 10.13x10.875", graphite/ink/digital. Friday, January 28, 2011. From the Trash Bin. Here's a recent job that was sadly killed in the sketch phase. It was a rushed cover for PW, the story dealt with police submitting Hispanic men in Kensington to random cheek swab tests. Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Studio set up/ 12" Wacom Cintiq hooked up to my 13" MacBook. In my job as an illustrator and comic book colorist, I work almost exclusively in Photoshop painting digitally.
