TSA Behavioral Detection Statistics - Schneier on Security

TSA Behavioral Detection Statistics. From the U.S. Government Accountability Office:. But congressional auditors have questions about other efficiencies as well, like having 3,000 "behavior detection" officers assigned to question passengers. The officers sidetracked 50,000 passengers in 2010, resulting in the arrests of 300 passengers, the GAO found. None turned out to be terrorists. But I'm sure the first paragraph is correct: the behavioral detection program is 0% effective at preventing terrorism.

I don't have a lot to say about WikiLeaks, but I do want to make a few points. 1 Encryption isn't the issue here. Of course the cables were encrypted, for transmission. Then they were received and decrypted, and - so it seems - put into an archive on SIPRNet. Where lots of people had access to them in their unencrypted form. 2 Secrets are only as secure as the least trusted person who knows them. The more people who know a secret, the more likely it is to be made public. 8226; 115 Comments. Actually, I f...

August 28, 2008. Now, people without ID must also answer personal questions from their credit history to ascertain their identity. The TSA will keep records of who those ID-less people are, too, in case they're trying to probe the system. The problem is that it is unverified passenger names that get checked against t...

From Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas, is about as dumb as it gets:. We are being in this country to allow our enemies to game our system, hurt our economy, get setup in a position to destroy our way of life. This is simply too stupid to even bother refuting. But this sort of fear mongering is nothing new for Gohmert. Posted on June 29, 2010 at 6:28 AM. 8226; 92 Comments. Bull; June 29, 2010 6:52 AM. Bull; June 29, 2010 7:13 AM.
