Mostly woodland paths and tracks with some modest climbs. Ample parking at the riverside car park near the old bridge on the B5106. Inns, restaurants and cafes in Llanrwst. Go straight across the next lane and down Groesffordd Lane to a main road. Look ahead-left for a cut-through to Conwy Road, cross straight over this and take the narrowing Constitution Hill, the path then passing through a wooded dingle to emerge at the car park opposite the railway station. In the Footsteps of Llewelyn Fawr. A gentle stroll around picturesque Dolwyddelan. In about 1173 Llewelyn Fawr - The Great - was born in Dolwyddelan Castle. This Prince of Gwynedd grew to be a formidable statesman and warrior, a thorn in the side of King John and Henry III. By his death in 1240 he had united and ruled much of today's Wales. The imposing castle keep dominates the craggy valley of the Lledr, which has long been worked for its grey gold slate. C 4 miles (6.5 km). 2 - 25 hours.
