Boating in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Monday, August 10, 2015. Good Friends, Good Times, Good on You. We have a tradition of having crab for our first dinner on the boat. Really, Doug, how many crab did you cook. What big pincers you have, my dear. Fishing was GOOD but not GREAT. Last time Jim was up, they caught a 52 lb salmon. That is a hard act to follow. But not too shabby! Links to this post. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. North to Prince Rupert. When we began our boating journey we had a ...

http://snowhawke.blogspot.com/2015/07/north-to-prince-rupert.html

Boating in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. North to Prince Rupert. When we began our boating journey we had a very different plan. We thought we would spend a couple of years exploring Canada and Alaska and then head south toward the Panama Canal. Seven years later we have yet to make it to Alaska. British Columbia is spectacular! We picked Deb and Ralph up in Prince Rupert which gave us new territory to explore! Young Grizzly Eating Sedge Grass. Ralph holds a second r...

Drifters' Travels: October 2014

http://snowhawke.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Boating in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Saturday, October 11, 2014. Our Jude- Bug on the Boat. We have been anxiously awaiting Jude's first trip on the SeaDrifter. It is our intention to get him to love the sea as we both do. When Shari called and suggested September we were ecstatic at the thought of ten days. Jude's initial goal was to catch a big bass (those mid western experiences). That was replaced with the goal to catch a big SALMON! Do you really think we will catch a salmon, Papa?

Drifters' Travels: June 2015

http://snowhawke.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Boating in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Eat to Live or Live to Eat. We are happy to have rounded Cape Caution and entered our summer cruising grounds. By the time we travel from Olympia to Fitzhugh Sound we have developd a hunger for seafood that must be met. We anchor in Kildidt Sound where we know where to forage. I am not sure how so many crab stuffed themselves into our traps. On our boat there is always a slight disagreement about crab. Crab is Doug's favori...

http://theseastory.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

News, notes and photos from the skipper of Sea Story. Jan 28, 2009. Down Baja and Whale Tales. Veteran Mexico crew members Doug Larson and Dennis Flick showed up in San Diego right on schedule, and we set off late in the afternoon of January 14th for what proved to be the easiest trip ever down the coast of Baja California. Unfortunately, because of the scarcity of wind, it turned out to be the trip with the least sailing as well. Dennis and Doug taking a swim off the stern of Sea Story in Ensenada de lo...

The Sea Story: October 2009

http://theseastory.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

News, notes and photos from the skipper of Sea Story. Oct 21, 2009. Another lucky break; hurricane Rick turned east and totally missed the Baja pennisula. Hopefully, this will be the last big one for this season, but the hurricane season doesn't end until mid-November, so we're not out of the woods yet. Posted by Jerry Rouillard. Oct 19, 2009. Initially it was forecast to pass right over La paz, but the track has been adjusted southward and it may even miss Cabo San Lucas as it heads east. It's been a to...

News, notes and photos from the skipper of Sea Story. Mar 27, 2008. Marina Vallarta Marina Vallarta This is the main channel leading into Marina Vallarta. The marina is packed with a a lot of high-end recreational boats and fishing boats that cater to Mexican and foreign tourists. Condos, restaurants and small shops surround the marina, which can be pretty festive, particularly on those evenings when the fishermen return with a good catch! Posted by Jerry Rouillard. News, notes and photos from the skipper of Sea Story. May 19, 2008. Sailing Up the Central Coast. Pat and Carole McIntosh were waiting to head north from Santa Barbara on their Hunter 430, Espiritu. When we got to the harbor. When the weather window opened up earlier than we expected, we decided to team up with them and the Swedberg family on Fantasia. News, notes and photos from the skipper of Sea Story. Jun 23, 2008. Back in Marina Bay. After six months, Sea Story is at home in the same berth we left in Richmond last November. Cleaned up and minus the dinghy and extra fuel jugs on the foredeck, she's getting some attention to the repair and upkeep needs that any twenty-year old boat requires, especially after racking up some 3000 miles in those six months. The presenters were Ana and Chanupa. Chanupa is a Lakota man who is a warrior fighting for his people against the forces of genocide. I don’t use the term genocide casually. It is accurate. It has happened right here in America. It is ongoing. I challenge all of you to watch the documentary “Red Cry” on YouTube. The First Nat...
