堡：今彰化縣線西、伸港二鄉全部，及和美鎮之大部。本堡原為「半堡」之一部，清乾隆間分立為「半線西堡」，至1875年改稱「線西堡」。1719年泉州人施世榜、楊志申等大墾首，以「柴坑仔庄」（在線東堡）為點，來堡開墾，至1738年，形成「德熙新埔十八庄」。 Babuza)平埔族半線社、柴坑仔社、馬芝遴社、阿東社等活動區域，本鄉應屬阿東社之埔地區域。 1723年，分諸羅縣北半線地置彰化縣，屬臺灣府，縣治設於半線，轄虎尾溪以北至雞籠(今基隆)、淡水一帶，本鄉為其涵蓋範圍。鄉里組織為半線保。1762年，彰化縣半線堡改稱半線東西堡，本鄉隸屬半線西堡。1809年，行政區又更改為一府四縣三廳，本鄉仍隸屬於彰化縣半線東西堡之西堡。1830年，彰化縣之區域仍如其舊，而縣內村莊區劃則更加細雜。1875年，臺灣的行政區域再度更改為二府八縣四廳，增設臺灣府於臺中ʌ...1947年，成立臺灣省政府。1950年，彰化縣成立，本鄉改歸 彰化縣. 管轄。1950年，今伸港鄉從線西鄉分出，另定名為新港鄉，本鄉八村仍舊至今。 訂閱： 文章 (Atom).

Monday, 10 May 2010. I have been rather quite about the elections. I am disappointed in the results. I did not expect the Liberal Democrats to win the majority and mandate of the people but I felt that Nick Clegg deserved more seats. It felt good to be part of the democratic process.
