Monday, November 09, 2009. Great Interview on CBC's The Current. To those wondering how NurtureShock hit #2 in nonfiction on Amazon Canada over the weekend, it's because a great interview ran with Hana Gartner of CBC's The Current. The opening several minutes are some great/hilarious quotes from parents on the street giving their opinions on race, self-esteem, baby einstein, etc. Here's the link to the page to hear it. On the bottom of the page, click "Listen to Part Three.". NurtureShock in the news.

http://pobronson.blogspot.com/2010/01/nurtureshock-is-on-over-30-best-of.html
Friday, January 08, 2010. NurtureShock is On Over 30 "Best Of" Lists! Has been included in over 30 "Best Of 2009" lists. We're very honored to have been recognized by each of them, and the sheer number is fantastic, but what is particularly thrilling to us is the variation in the lists, themselves. For example, Barnes and Noble. And iTunes recognized us as being some of the Best in General. Had us in their lists of Best of Books. Without reference to genre. Has us at #1 in its "Best in Self Development".

http://pobronson.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 24, 2006. Like Po, I, too, have been a little intimidated with the demands of a blog, so I'll bunt a little and use it to not just highlight some of the more interesting material we've found, but to call attention to recently released research. First up, the U.S. Census. Recently released a report on the U.S.'s Native American/Alaskan native populations. This is another one of their Census 2000 Reports. Also, for those of you surfing through the Factbook. Tuesday, February 21, 2006.

Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Has Being Married Gone Out of Style? Jump to our new essay at Time.com. Last Thanksgiving, I wrote an email to my mailing list, with a message about the state of family. I started off by noting that the typical American home has no kids in it. Not 2.2 kids, not 1.8 kids, but zero kids. 62% of American homes have no. Clarifying the true reasons that there are so many new non-married households. Couples. They're not romantically involved at all. They're merely roommates. I rest...

NurtureShock Gab, News & Updates: November 2006
http://pobronson.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 26, 2006. Thanksgiving in New Orleans. Let me give you a little visual tour. This picture (above) is looking westward to the Lake and I-10. It's so wiped clean that the photo op is gone. So here's a house further up the block, on that same spit. In this low resolution photo it might be hard to see, but there's a white car buried in the rubble. Which will give up to $150,000 to families to rebuild - less if they want to resettle elsewhere. 123,000 families should be eligible, and so f...

http://pobronson.blogspot.com/2010/02/new-pieces-at-daily-beast.html
Saturday, February 27, 2010. New Pieces at the Daily Beast. Last week, we wrote two-pieces for The Daily Beast. That we're very excited about. In our book, we explain how poorly early IQ scores predict kids' later achievement, and, since the book's release, a number of people have begun calling for schools to use behavioral measures to assess kids. So in our first piece. We explain that the truth is these alternative measures are even worse less reliable than IQ results. Thank you, Jamie Jedinak. I think...
