Social Work Couture

This past week lululemon has received quite a bit of buzz. I'm new to lululemon but absolutely love the few pieces I have. I never really saw the point in investing. In workout clothes, but I can really notice the difference and think it's worth saving for, especially the pants! I get so tired of having to pull my yoga pants up! That's not a problem with lululemon pants - they stay in place! I'm loving the colors they have right now. here are my picks in fresh teal and pop orange! 1 Flow and Go Tank II.

Good morning and happy Saturday to ya! Are you familiar with Story People. I get the story of the day emailed. To me and just spent some time reading through them from this past week. It's fun. I have one. In my home office from my momma that I love. I'm pretty sure it was either a birthday gift or a graduation gift. Anyway, they have some wonderfully themed prints that are appropriate for social workers so I wanted to share! I'd really like to get one for my work office, I just have to decide which one!

What Came First, the Apple or the Burpee? | Bluebird Down

https://bluebirddown.wordpress.com/2013/06/17/what-came-first-the-apple-or-the-burpee

The pursuit of domestic bliss, one glorious debacle at a time. What Came First, the Apple or the Burpee? June 17, 2013. 8212; Teri @ 6:18 pm. I’m soaking my fruit in vinegar. Have you seen this. So I bought the cherries and bypassed the chocolate chip cookies because it’s time to get my eating on track. My meal plans have to transition to timely visits to the grocery then to actual meals made in the kitchen. Tricky how it all depends on the other. Here’s the summer training schedule:. Friday: Couch to 10K.

Sick burn(out.) | SocialJerk

https://socialjerk.wordpress.com/2013/09/16/3302

Because writing about social work can be funny, too! So often, the only way you get what you need in this field is to kind of be a pain in the ass. No one wants to, but you have to. Lots of people don’t check their voicemail. Or they don’t answer their phone. Or check their email. They might not even go here. So you have to be “proactive.” That’s the nice way of saying “stalker.” It’s fine, no charges have ever stuck. But it’s the way things get done. Not that I’ve considered that. Anyway. You need to st...

IEP, as simple as 7 3 9. | SocialJerk

https://socialjerk.wordpress.com/2013/10/01/iep-as-simple-as-7-3-9

Because writing about social work can be funny, too! IEP, as simple as 7 3 9. We’re back to school. Pencils, books, teachers’ beautiful looks, all that. It’s a delight. I’m also back to fighting with school staff. I swear, they started it! And partly because I had a mother who worked in education, knew the system, and knew her kids’ rights. She also knew not to believe us when we said we didn’t have homework. For the last time, who are you and how do you keep getting access to my blog? If you don’t...

You’re in big trouble, mister. | SocialJerk

https://socialjerk.wordpress.com/2013/09/09/youre-in-big-trouble-mister

Because writing about social work can be funny, too! You’re in big trouble, mister. Children are great. I mean, they are the future. They’re made of sugar and spice and shit. They give your life meaning. At least, that’s what people tell 29 year olds who haven’t gotten around to procreating yet. Then the kid smacks you in the face and laughs. Discipline. It’s not easy. But there are ways to not be terrible at it. Parents we work with usually recognize that they need to stop hitting their kids. Becaus...

Enough. Enough now. | Bluebird Down

https://bluebirddown.wordpress.com/2015/01/19/enough-enough-now

The pursuit of domestic bliss, one glorious debacle at a time. Enough. Enough now. January 19, 2015. Filed under: Baby Making. 8212; Teri @ 11:33 am. It just recently happened that I put a name on emotions I’ve been feeling for the past few years. I slouched in the chair across from the man who taught me how to be a therapist and announced, I think I’ve been grieving. His response: I know. Until I scrolled through my blog looking at past posts, I had no idea it has been. Three and a half years of grieving.
