Paintings by Kim Ratigan: Back from Schomberg
http://kimratigan.blogspot.com/2014/09/back-from-schomberg.html
Monday, September 15, 2014. Back from Schomberg Street Gallery and it was a lovely show. A lot of wonderful artists and a pretty fair turn out of people. Although it was kinda overcast (sunbeams would have been better) Mother Nature did allow us to stay dry and it didn't rain! Met some interesting people and other artists, and stopped by to say "hi" to a few I've shown with before: Linda Shantz. Also met and chatted with my "booth neighbour," Robert Magee. He is a fellow Burlingtonian! Luv me, luv my dog.

Heléne Burrow's Personal Blog. Tuesday, 26 June 2012. I thought I would post pictures of a little oil painting I have been working on. I mentioned in my last post that I was trying to find a way of starting an oil painting that suits me and I feel comfortable with, well this is it, for the time being anyway! The next stage is to work in the background, again being very careful to get my values and temperatures right. I'm trying to vary my edges to suggest distance and to add interest and I'm not tryi...

http://heleneburrow.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Heléne Burrow's Personal Blog. Tuesday, 8 May 2012. I have been playing around with some small oil sketches in various differing styles to start to achieve the results I want. Newer readers of my blog will understand that I am switching from using Acrylic to oil paint, something that I have been working on for a couple of years now and trying to find a style that I really like. This is pretty much what my early layers are like:. I use my bristle brushes for this stage as I like the interesting edges but ...

Heléne Burrow: Winter Wolves
http://heleneburrow.blogspot.com/2013/03/winter-wolves.html
Heléne Burrow's Personal Blog. Tuesday, 26 March 2013. I've just returned from a very enjoyable weekend visiting my sister in Kent and photographing a group of wolves at the Anglian Wolf Society. My sister has really taken an interest in photography recently so for her Christmas present I paid for her to go on a one day photography course with Wild Arena, they offer courses photographing various animals but of course I chose my favourite subject of Wolves, I hasten to add that she does like them too!
