Demonstration in SW Vic. Comprehensive soil tests were conducted across the region and the results are posted on the Network SW website. This will allow farmers to compare their soils data with the data collected by other farmers and the demonstration farms. In the long term, this data will not only prove how change has occurred by adopting best management practices but will also be an important regional monitoring and evaluation tool and will help to develop valuable regional soils benchmarking.

Soil Health Partnership

Tim Smith thought he was doing everything right. But conservation programs, like the Soil Health Partnership, opened his eyes to new methods of mitigating erosion and managing nutrients. This includes use of cover crops, including cereal rye and oats. Farming is always evolving, Smith says.
