The Auditorium: Album Review: Counting Crows - Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation)

Monday, April 16, 2012. Album Review: Counting Crows - Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation). Counting Crows - Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation). It's been five years since the last studio album by one of my favourite bands, the Counting Crows. 2007's. Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings. Was a lovely mixture of tracks, and so I was looking forward to hearing. Only their sixth studio album in 19 years. It's melodic, laid back and engaging in exactly the sam...

Misty Reflections: August 2008
http://misty-reflections.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 03, 2008. 60 pounds later . . . Yep - as of this morning, I have lost a grand total of 60 pounds. It's quite an impressive sounding number really. But I've only lost it physically. And that's my other (small) issue. Is it wrong that I am enjoying flirting so shamelessly with all these men who formally wouldn't have looked at me twice? Because I really am . . . Misty Reflections: November 2007

Sunday, November 04, 2007. Getting used to new flatmate, part 2. Strange men in lounge are now conscious again. One walked into the kitchen, while I was taking my fresh bread out of the breadmaker (domestic, moi? And I recognised him as one of Sam's friends. Then his older brother walked in. The man is a God. I was almost speechless. And there I am, wearing running pants that are falling to bits, and a black jumper with more bobbles on it than a bobbly thing. Such a good look . . . Friday, May 18, 2007. Everything is going down the pan. Is it only me that sees the immense irony in the fact that one-trick ponies the Kaiser Chiefs new single is called "Everything Is Average Nowadays"? And considering they have beaten their one song idea to within an inch of its life, I find it interesting that "Everything Is Average Nowadays" has the same number of syllables as "Everyday I Love You Less And Less". Delivered by LB at 8:44 PM. Wednesday, May 16, 2007. Siobhan Donaghy - Ghosts. Are all ...

Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Respected, selected, call collected. This is a re-posting of something that was published as part of the Art of Noise A-Z. But I make no apologies for that. I'm looking for votes for the Earworm of the Year 2006. The nuts and bolts of it are that I require you to send your 5 nominations for Earworms of the Year 2006 to the email address in my profile. And then come up with the definitive list for 2006. Check out last year's poll. To see what I'm talking about. If you have ex...

Monday, April 23, 2007. That bloody mary's lacking in tabasco. So, the Arctic Monkeys are back. Back! Actually, I am not sure they ever went away, to tell you the truth. Indeed, it's only been about fifteen months since their eagerly awaited debut "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" sold about 6.2 gazillion copies in the first forty-five minutes of a cold January morning. Approach on "Only Ones Who Know", "Do Me A Favour" and "505". I wonder if the freshness of their sound and the perceptiven...

The Auditorium: January 2007

Friday, January 26, 2007. The Good, The Bad and The Queen. I’m afraid I'm going to do this the disservice of reviewing it track by track as I listen through the album. I’ve not done this before, and it may break down into stream of consciousness ramble, but bear with me. The song has a slightly doo-wop feel. Almost Elvis-like until Albarn starts to sing and changes the tone slightly as this waltzing backing track plays along underneath him. It sounds regretful and yet ethereal. 4 Kingdom of Doom. Lovely ...

The Auditorium: Not so much of a Top Ten, more of a list of favourites.
http://theauditorium.blogspot.com/2012/12/not-so-much-of-top-ten-more-of-list-of.html
Monday, December 31, 2012. Not so much of a Top Ten, more of a list of favourites. 2012 is all but over. I have to say that musically, in my opinion, it's been a very good year. Whilst there have been some albums released that have failed to live up to their hype, and others that should have by all sense and purpose been stonkers, yet turned out to be stinkers, overall 2012 has delivered some absolute gems. In no particular order, here's my favourite album releases of 2012:. Elbow "Dead In The Boot".
