VA to VN: Outlook Interview
http://vatovn.blogspot.com/2008/05/outlook-interview.html
A blog about travels from Virginia to Vietnam, beginning in 2006. Monday, May 26, 2008. I've been reading these "On The Stool" features in Timeout magazine, a 40 page or so weekly magazine insert in the local English language weekly business paper, Vietnam Investment Review. Age: older than 50% of the local populace, at least. What brought you to Vietnam? What is keeping you here? Where do you go to escape? Any of the local golf courses. Which are better than my 'home' courses. What don't you miss? She, ...

VA to VN: Falafel, Again
http://vatovn.blogspot.com/2008/11/falafel-again.html
A blog about travels from Virginia to Vietnam, beginning in 2006. Wednesday, November 12, 2008. The Pham Ngu Lao Falafel shop. That I posted about earlier has a cool little freebie for its customers. Besides the common to Vietnam free wifi setup, it boasts free international calling. Ok, so it's free for 5 minutes and 5k/minute thereafter, but that's still kinda cool and the sort of novel marketing idea that is impressive, especially being the first on the block with it. . And this About This Blog.

VA to VN: Bia 33
http://vatovn.blogspot.com/2008/11/bia-33.html
A blog about travels from Virginia to Vietnam, beginning in 2006. Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Recently I had some Bia 33. If you're paying attention, then you know that in Vietnam it is Bia 333 - yeah, there's an extra "3.". I read online somewhere that the name sprouted the addendum shortly after 1975. Maybe they changed it from the "33" to throw off former American servicemen, or to distance itself from Rolling Rock. Who knows. . Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). And this About This Blog.

VA to VN: Cutting Thru the Communist Red Tape
http://vatovn.blogspot.com/2008/04/test.html
A blog about travels from Virginia to Vietnam, beginning in 2006. Saturday, November 01, 2008. Cutting Thru the Communist Red Tape. So recently I had occasion to experience the red tape in this country, and, to be frank, it wasn't so bad. . Above is the view I had for about 1.5 hours, waiting for my number to be called. but let's start at the beginning. In Vietnam, and in some parts of Asia, the seal requirement is still paramount. Documents are not legal unless they have a seal - be it from a compan...

https://pinoyripper.wordpress.com/2006/10/20/a-day-in-the-life
Confessions of a Filipino Serial Killer. Dark thoughts…dark experiences…. A Day in the Life. I was sitting alone on a concrete bench at the Luneta, chewing endlessly on my tasteless Bazooka bubblegum while looking into the horizon through my Wayfarer sunglasses, unmindful of all the commotions around. My mind drifted to far away places, far enough which was hard to fathom. Memories circled in my head and then pffft! I sped off towards the CCP and parked my car near the unlit portion of the condemned Mani...
