AIEEEE!: "AAAAHH! SHARKS ON LEGS!"
http://mangamax-aieeee.blogspot.com/2015/04/aaaahh-sharks-on-legs.html
A fans musing on the characters and titles from British boy's comics 1968-1978. Wednesday, 1 April 2015. Slightly out of the remit for this here Blog but please indulge me. It was a case of love at first sight when this appeared in 2000AD - big first panel kicking off some joyous imagination and bampot notions taking me right back to the early days of the Prog, Action, and a whole slew of early 70's titles when an ordinary, real life thing or situation is given a fantasy/SF angle. So, love at first sight.

A fans musing on the characters and titles from British boy's comics 1968-1978. Sunday, 19 April 2015. Bargains galore in Wales. Just back from a lovely holiday in North Wales, driving 'round visiting tons of neat places. Llangollen was neat and then made even neater when we stopped into a combined cafe/second-hand book shop and found, laying in piles and piles on the floor stacked high, tons and tons of 70's and 80's British comics. 2000AD, Bullett, Warlord, Cor! 20 April 2015 at 01:34. Born 62, growing...

AIEEEE!: July 2013
http://mangamax-aieeee.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
A fans musing on the characters and titles from British boy's comics 1968-1978. Wednesday, 24 July 2013. There's a whole bunch of annuals/comics that I've treasured ever since I read them, either one's I've kept since they first came out:. Or that I've still to track down for my collection:. And occasionally, VERY occasionally, I come across something that i'd loved dearly, but had totally forgotten about. And that's the case with this here annual:. I know this" I sort of stammered. And this shot of the ...

AIEEEE!: December 2014
http://mangamax-aieeee.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
A fans musing on the characters and titles from British boy's comics 1968-1978. Friday, 5 December 2014. Black Max loses, Adam Eterno wins. Lion and Thunder, 22nd May 1971. Again, a pretty duff episode of Black Max - lots of taking off, landing and taking off again, with not much else. Apart from the fantastic notion yet again, done with seemingly no sense of irony whatsoever, of Max storing his massive Giant Bat in the very slim, narrow rear fuselage:. Next up, we get some just stunning black and white,...

AIEEEE!: January 2015
http://mangamax-aieeee.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
A fans musing on the characters and titles from British boy's comics 1968-1978. Saturday, 24 January 2015. Action 7th August 1976 - vicious. We all know Action, yes? We all know about the thrills and the violence and the, er, action and how great and groundbreaking and different it was. Well, i've just gotten this issue to fill in my collection and re-read it for the first time in nigh-on 39 years and was quite taken aback at just how nasty and vicious some of the strips were. Next up is "Greene's Grudge...

AIEEEE!: Starlord issue 2
http://mangamax-aieeee.blogspot.com/2015/03/starlord-issue-2.html
A fans musing on the characters and titles from British boy's comics 1968-1978. Friday, 13 March 2015. For my next dip i'm going almost to the end of the school years remit for this site, only two months before i left school. So, issue 2 of Starlord and we've an odd cover - the Timequake figures at the bottom are certainly by Brian Bolland, but the Droon up top? Sure not his style at all. Exhausting stuff, with superlative art:. Finishing off, the superb "Ro-Busters" and this issue is noticble for me for...

A fans musing on the characters and titles from British boy's comics 1968-1978. Wednesday, 4 December 2013. Charley's War - Hitlers Youth. Been a while, and i'm sorry for that - life lately has meant that reading really hasn't been on the agenda. I'm back with a quick mention of this volume of Charley's War. Its been out for a couple of years now, and its been on the "Must Buy That Sometime" list since that, but other things tend ed to get in my sights first. Here it is in the flesh:. Major Eazy fan site.
