A group of more than 20 Holyrood students had the rare opportunity last month to visit Poland’s Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II, otherwise known as Birkenau. 2015 is a particularly important year in WWII history, as it is the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the camps by the Red Army. These two museums, were part of the Nazi’s Final Solution camps where upwards of 1.1 million people sadly died.
