The Inwoodist: May 2008
http://inwoodist.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Just another blog about life at the edge of the island. Friday, May 30, 2008. A bicycle corridor linking Inwood and the Bronx. Here's my wishful thinking to kick off the weekend: a safe bicycle corridor linking Inwood and the Bronx. Along 207th St and Fordham Rd. New York's version of Bus Rapid Transit. Debuts on this line starting June 29 we'll see some improvements for riders. So let's imagine for a moment that Fordham Road was given a livable streets makeover. Or some kind of bike boulevard. In anothe...

Just another blog about life at the edge of the island. Thursday, June 19, 2008. Transit riders slapped in the face. Well, I'm having my fifteen minutes of fame on the Streetsblog. Home page as the featured "Word on the street." Those words are: "All transit riders here have been collectively slapped in the face.". No, there hasn't been an outbreak of hand-to-face violence on New York City subway cars. Rather, our. A key way of ensuring cars and other vehicles don't use the bus lanes is through bus-mount...

Just another blog about life at the edge of the island. Friday, February 29, 2008. Yesterday, the Gay Recluse. Observed here that the MTA. Could do us all a huge favor and renovate some stations, which leads me to today's post. Elevated trains are lovely to ride as a passenger (light, views), but they mar the street landscape, block light to houses and businesses, and make a lot of noise. Any subway alternatives- monorails. Riding the 1 train, it's clear that the IRT designers paid attention to station a...

The Inwoodist: March 2008

Just another blog about life at the edge of the island. Friday, March 28, 2008. Turn Park Avenue into.a park? Here's a tragic example from Aaron Naperstek's excellent blog. Of what happens when urban transportation policy privileges private cars above all other modes of transit (including walking, bicycles, and mass transit). Following its ignoble debut as a rail corridor for steam-powered locomotives. Why does a street have to be noisy, ugly, and dangerous? Links to this post. Thursday, March 6, 2008.

somewheretoelsewhere
February 9, 2014. Blocked all of Act 3 today and ran it at rehearsal. It’s a shorter act, but its a fucking doozy. Things constantly get thrown in her way and the desperation grows…and it’s a blast! For now that’s all I can give. I haven’t dug in enough yet, but it’s early…. I was drained after rehearsal and loved every second....
