StrokesFor Dummies: May 2015
http://carlsonjodi.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 11, 2015. Robert has had back problems for years and the past couple of years it has gotten really bad. Really bad. He has tried nearly everything from physical therapy to numerous surgeries to strong medications. He HATES the medications for their numerous side effects. He even has to be on oxygen at night because the meds decrease his levels when he sleeps. Luckily we both like the white noise of the oxygen machine. I just wanted everyone out of that room! When Robert and I talked about thi...

StrokesFor Dummies: September 2014
http://carlsonjodi.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 3, 2014. This article was posted on "Young Stroke Survivors" FB page and I really liked it. I'm nearly seven yeas out and fatigue is still a major problem for me. I have to plan my day around it. But my biggest question is whether house work is considered both mental and physical. That could be my new excuse for not doing it! Mental versus Physical Fatigue. Why does this occur? Does fatigue get better over time? For most, it does. Does it go away completely? What Can I Do?

StrokesFor Dummies: Davis County Schools Foundation
http://carlsonjodi.blogspot.com/2014/08/davis-county-schools-foundation.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Davis County Schools Foundation. A while ago our family was asked to be a part of a back to school shopping spree given by the Davis School Foundation. I'm not going to lie, I felt a bit sheepish for accepting. I know that there are many children less fortunate than mine and, frankly, we seemed undeserving. That night when Daddy got home, he asked about every detail and they were all happy to share. Even after school has started, they get happy every time they get to wear thei...

StrokesFor Dummies: October 2013
http://carlsonjodi.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 24, 2013. I really don't mean to complain so stick with me until the end. It gets better. By last night I was a mess. I had not put on makeup or worn anything but sweats in daayys. It felt like the last two weeks were a big blur and -. I am totally sick of my bed! He has told me over and over that it is all worth it just to have me here. He hugged me and told me that again. He also told me that I do more than I realize and that I am a good momma and wife. He's a good liar. When I began ...

StrokesFor Dummies: Happy 40th
http://carlsonjodi.blogspot.com/2014/08/happy-40th.html
Monday, August 4, 2014. I realize that many people want to just ignore birthdays and especially their 40th birthday. But I am very blessed to be around to see mine! I can't even describe how much I love milestones like this. Every one of them is so wonderful to reach and I feel a little thrill each time I realize that I get more time with my family! Our own "Tiffany" moment. Awww. Thank you cousin, Brittany for taking these! Jain had to add her own touches to the cake. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

StrokesFor Dummies: June 2014
http://carlsonjodi.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2014. One of the few perks of the stroke. Also, this week my face has been doing a lot of twitching. I was told that the nerve transplant would take years to finish healing and I guess that is right. Oddly one particular muscle twitches whenever I hear a loud noise. Weird, huh? I had a few years to really show how much I loved my boys before just being gone. It was a very hard thing, for all of us, to be apart, but with a lot of help and blessings, we were able to weather the storm.

StrokesFor Dummies: February 2014
http://carlsonjodi.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 16, 2014. I was there to pick up my girl from school. I knew she must be hurt because she missed the Valentines day party at school. Sad little girl. Wendy made her adorable outfit. I'm actually quite proud of her hair. It took way too long and she was very patient with me. He said he didn't work very hard because his imagination did it all. Some of the kids in his class were very hesitant while putting in their cards-They were a bit afraid that the monster would "get" them. His behavior...

Saturday, November 29, 2014. It could be called the 7 years war. Okay, maybe not affecting so many people as that war, but it's been my own little battle. A battle I am winning. I won't say I have won because this will go on for the rest of my life, but I have more happy times than sad so I would say that counts as winning. There is something that I have been thinking about a lot. A change has been taking place for many years and it has been so gradual that I hardly noticed. In the days that followed, mo...
