Saturday, January 1, 2011. 06 NEW YEAR… NEW ADVENTURES! Having to work until late last night really sucked. We got home around 11:00 pm and stayed up long enough to ring in the New Year to the serenade of numerous whistles from various ships and smaller boats in the harbour. Heading our for a walk this morning to try and absorb a few rays of sunshine we stopped by Syrah only to discover the inner harbour covered in a thin layer of ICE! Wednesday, January 5, 2011. 07 LORDY, LORDY, LOOK WHO’S… OLDER THAN SYRAH! Last night Lance was able to get off work early enough to beat the insane. Victoria traffic. Getting home at 4:30pm instead of the initially scheduled 10pm meant that a nice dinner out was suddenly a reality instead of a dream. Holding: 25 US Gal. Builder: King Dragon Yachts, Taiwan. Until 1984 hull numbering was not consistent. Some boats were stamped SXA and others had the year digits left out. In some cases I have noted two of the same number (53, 62). Many early models were ketch rig while the majority of later models were cutter rig.

Original design options were: Pullman berth, V Berth and then the confusing MkII “interior design” with the head forward and a Pullman berth. The MkII interior option was not available on the Telstar due to an adjustment in the position of the mast.

ALL ABOUT HULL NUMBERS. WHERE TO FIND THE HULL NUMBER. The hull number on a Hans Christian is found on the stern of the Starboard side. The number, beginning with XSA (though a few boats were incorrectly stamped with SXA) is stamped into the fiberglass just below the teak.
