Saturday, 27 June 2009 - 6:49 pm. The Pride’s fall. Today, there were questions that needed answers. Our guests were quiet all night, and they looked frozen when we let them out this morning. Some of the boys had been through their gear and left it in a heap, having removed any potential weapons. It’s possible they took some other stuff too, but no-one’s willing to say. I tried to keep track of where everyone was. Thorpe was standing between the injured and Bree’s group, firmly planted at Dale&...There w...

Laquo; Dots on a map. Saturday, 28 February 2009 - 3:02 pm. There was a crackling this morning that scared the crap out of us. It’s funny now, looking back on it – we thought that something had crawled into Ben’s pack and was trying to get into his food. So we were all shouting, and I was freaking out wondering what the hell was in there, and Nugget looked alarmed in case Jones had got zipped in somehow. We all shouted hello, and then listened as Ben asked him how things were. He said they were okay ...

Sunday, 11 January 2009 - 7:50 pm. We’re finding out why there’s no-one left here. It has been sucked dry and left to pucker under this strange orange sky. We tried three vehicles, but none of them would start. They coughed sadly, but they wouldn’t start. It took us a while to discover that their fuel has already been siphoned away. Our supplies are running low. There’s no water left at all now, and not much food. We went into a couple of stores, but there was only dregs left. We spent so much time searc...

Laquo; Rat tales. Tuesday, 7 April 2009 - 11:08 am. I didn’t cut myself yesterday. My fingernails were bleeding. I freaked out when I saw it; I didn’t even realise I’d made a noise until a couple of the others came running over. It wasn’t until Sally covered my hands with a towel that I managed to calm down. Then I fainted. The weirdest thing was that it didn’t really hurt. I was just… leaking. My fingertips are all bound up now – I look like I tried to pick up a porcupine. Category: 07. Sickness. Hand on my head. Monday, 3 August 2009 - 12:50 pm. I killed a man last night. I killed someone I love. I didn’t want to. I didn’t mean to. They sound like such feeble excuses. Thorpe brought the gun, but it was my hands that did it. I had to make a choice. Ben or Matt. The two people who mean the most to me in this world. Tears won’t wash it away, but they keep coming anyway. I can’t sleep. I killed someone. I think I killed myself, too. Category: 12. Redefinition. Hand on my head. Hand on my head. Dillo...

Wednesday, 17 December 2008 - 7:38 pm. So, here it is. A brand new blog, just for me. I have thrown away my Facebook login, and my Myspace details. Who needs ‘em? I don’t, that’s who. I have everything I need, right here. I never wanted that whole interactive journal thing anyway. Or the old schoolfriends finding me after years and miles have passed between us. Or the cute little notes left while I was at work or asleep to let me know that someone, somewhere, was thinking about me. Okay, I really did.

Sunday, 12 July 2009 - 6:10 pm. It’s been a strange couple of days here in the Department of Chemistry and Biological Sciences. We’ve been trying to catch our breaths and get a handle on what’s here at the same time. It has been like snatching a lungful of smoke when you’re drowning. Dillon is doing better. He’s spending as much time on the crutches as he can, practicing moving around on them. I told him to take it easy, but he looked at me and said that he didn’t want to slow us down. Dr Kostoya has bee...

Sunday, 25 January 2009 - 4:21 pm. Our first port of call today was a shopping precinct. We might have the big plan agreed now, we might have worked out where we’re aiming for and have a line drawn on a map, but we still need to worry about the mundane details. Like the food supplies and the water we’re going to need to walk that line. The stores were a bust, at least for the consumables. No-one wants to make something big out of this by shaping it into sound. So I guess that answers that question. He...

The Apocalypse Blog is no longer accepting submissions for guest posts, as the story is complete. As Faith continues her travels through her post-apocalyptic world, she is collecting others’ stories and recording them in her blog. They can be letters she picks up, scraps of others’ journals, or word-of-mouth tales told to her. These stories are told in the characters’ own words and voices, and that’s where the guest posts come in. List of published guest posts. Deviant’s Edge 2.0. Scavenger of the dead.
