http://bourbondork.blogspot.com/2015/05/kentucky-spring-2015.html
The ridiculous pursuit of Bourbon (.and other whiskies). Sunday, May 17, 2015. Kentucky - Spring 2015. I've just returned from Kentucky where this last week we conducted the annual barrel picking endeavor. Visits to Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam and Wild Turkey yielded multiple barrel picks that I'm very excited about. I'll post details in the coming weeks. The year's trip was the best to date, but now back to the real world. May 27, 2015 at 4:07 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Bourbon Dork: Tasting American Style
http://bourbondork.blogspot.com/2015/05/tasting-american-style.html
The ridiculous pursuit of Bourbon (.and other whiskies). Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Last Thursday I conducted a tasting at Jack Rose Dining Saloon. In my discussions with the client and the Whiskey Adviser at Jack Rose we settled on an American Whiskey line-up that featured Corn Whiskey all the way to Rye Whiskey in order to provide the tasters the experience of the sweet to the spice. The lineup was as follows:. Corn - Berkshire Corn Whiskey: 90% corn, 10% barley aged 1 year @ 86 proof. Weller Special Reserv...

http://bourbondork.blogspot.com/2015/04/cigar-journal-macanudo-cru-royale.html
The ridiculous pursuit of Bourbon (.and other whiskies). Sunday, April 26, 2015. Cigar Journal - Macanudo Cru Royale. I've been smoking cigars regularly for about 9 years. Prior to that, a cigar would be enjoyed during a round of golf or maybe while mowing the lawn. Since 2006, I've enjoyed some very fine domestic and cuban expressions and like whiskey, I know what I like and what I don't like. The cigar came from Famous Smoke Shop and runs around $6. From their website:. Follow the Dork by Email. I have...

Epicurean in the ATL. An Atlanta Food and Drink Blog. Monday, July 21, 2014. Atlanta's Best Double-Stack Burgers (Part 3): Gunshow. This burger is Gillespie's take on the "secret" menu item from In-N-Out Burger, the Double-Double Animal Style. This burger came in the midst of a fast-paced meal, so I didn't get a lot of the specifics about sourcing, etc. Perfectly soft and crisp on the cut side, which helps it stand up to the toppings. Standard American, as it should be. 95/100. This burger is downrig...

Whiskey Obsessive: June 2013
http://whiskeyobsessive.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 23, 2013. Vintage 21 and Rittenhouse 21 Rye Whiskey Reviews. Old enough to drink themselves. Along with Islay Scotch, aged rye is my abiding whisky love. So it is with much happiness that I was able to change out of my baby-vomit-covered shirt, sit down, and write this review. As you may remember from my first posts. Vintage 21 Rye Whiskey (Kentucky Bourbon Distillers) 47%ABV ($120 if you can find it). Attic, church pews, incense, dark rye toast, toffee, raisins. These are both excellent rye...
