Security in South Africa

Security in South Africa. Sunday, October 26, 2014. I've been off air for almost 3 years here for a bunch of reasons but now it's time to return. I can't promise daily posts - yet - but rather I'll bring what I think is important to my readers here is SA and overseas. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Municipal elections here today so in theory a holiday but in reality just another working day. In the world of professional security there are few days off. Labels: Update 18 May 2011. Sunday, October 17, 2010.

Security in South Africa: October 2010

http://southafricansecurity.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Security in South Africa. Sunday, October 17, 2010. We're back, after a hugely busy year securing visitors to the World Cup, conducting sad investigations into aircrashes, training a Special Investigation Unit and designing a total security revamp for 2 large universities. We did manage to squeeze in a long weekend away at the Phantom Forrest in Knysna and a week of scuba at the Malindi Marine Reserve in Kenya. Labels: Oct 2010 update - at last. Security in South Africa: Impotent taxi drivers try to stop new public transport system

http://southafricansecurity.blogspot.com/2009/09/impotent-taxi-drivers-try-to-stop-new.html

Security in South Africa. Monday, September 7, 2009. Impotent taxi drivers try to stop new public transport system. The R 3 billion ( US$ 400 million) City of Johannesburg Johannesburg Bus Rapid Transit system (http:/ www.reavaya.org.za/home) - branded ‘Rea Vaya’ - is one week old today and it seems to have had very few teething troubles. This is really good news and augres well for our 2010 Soccer World cup readiness. And related to this issue, police are still trying to determine the motive behind the ...

http://southafricansecurity.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Security in South Africa. Monday, August 17, 2009. 2010 World Cup security chaos. Questions must be raised asked about South Africa's security readiness for the 2010 FIFA World Cup after the unexpected resignation of security manager Wally Rhoode. Rhoode, an Umkhonto weSizwe ('Spear Of The Nation' - the ANC insurgents during the apartheid era) veteran and former head of security at the National Prosecuting Authority, left on 1 August to pursue family business interests. Business Against Crime has urged c...

Spindrifting South African sea monkey

Sunday, 5 April 2015. Soooo Breastfeeding is going. well? Can I even write that? Why can it not just be consistent? Squirmy has had about 3 colds in the last 2 weeks. Or a cold that will just not go away. Thanks to G who now works in a office with parents of toddlers who are always sick. I don't get these colds so I thought that the magical unicorn breastmilk juice was supposed to protect him but clearly not. Useless unicorn juice! Links to this post. Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Baby L is 13 weeks. He eats e...

South African Sea Monkey | Blogging About The Local Scene

South African Sea Monkey. Blogging About The Local Scene. Tourism in South Africa. South Africa is known for its beautiful scenery, the friendliness of its people, and of course, for its iconic Springbok replica rugby jersey. There is little wonder why our country is the sought after tourist destination that it is. Moreover, judging by the prices of the houses for sale in Gauteng. It is also a sought after destination in which to live. And the Kruger Park. From 2012 to 2014, the government has allocated ...

Spindrifting South African seamonkey. | It all comes down to hamsters in the end.

Spindrifting South African seamonkey. It all comes down to hamsters in the end. I was 9 years old. So here are my utterly self-indulgent memories of the historical moments surrounding Madiba, that I cling to fiercely in order to remember the rare and remarkable way in which he walked through this world. To see a man walk out of jail? It befuddled me. Why would the world stop to watch a man walking out of jail? I do remember Mandela’s inauguration and speech. I think this was the first time I fe...He whos...
