Went for a wander this evening to enjoy the damp autumn with Yarrow and was amazed to find so many different fungi budding up through leaf litter and pine needles, even in the nooks and dark places of our own garden. Thursday, April 29, 2010. Lots of yummy local foods and weeding these last few weeks. Mixes of sunny days and rainy nights continue. Tree planting time is almost upon us, and winter veges are in the freshly dug garden beds. To this.weed control success? Trial of windbreak and weed mats, awaiting gale force winds! Burning off across the valley. American Ginseng in berry. Lemon verbena, grows rapidly! Hyssop, a delightful flower. Upper 'dam', we are hoping to regenerate this via dam liner for water birds.

Friday, October 2, 2009. One Hundred and forty four. Until last weekend it had been a dry month, only 30 or so mm, then it RAINED. Month total 144mm. Every gully was running with runoff and the creek was a torrent. Heres the BOM rainfall for that week.we are right near the blue spot. Perhaps one of the few places left in Aus with above average rain? This ones normally half full. And this is normally dry. The weather suited our furry friends. First crop of Calendula drying.
