Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Day 224 - 12th August 2015 - Fog, Song Sparrow and Chickadee. Certainly couldn't see across the lake, only the shoreline near me. Song Sparrows were out. There were six or seven Chickadees flitting around. If you look closely you can see this Yellow-Rumped Warbler has caught breakfast. Wildflowers along the road. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thursday, August 13, 2015. Day 225 - 13th August 2015 - Common Yellowthroat, Lily and Hermit Thrush. No matter how he posed this Common Yellowthroat Warbler reminded me of the "Angry Bird". A neighbour's Lily - they sure come in a variety of colors and sizes. A few times I thought the sun was trying to break through but it never really succeeded. Hermit Thrush. A youngster by the looks of him. There were several chasing one another through the bushes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Day 225 - 13th Au...

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Day 181 - 30th June 2015 - Daisy, Wild Strawberries, Song Sparrow and Red Leaves. Overcast this morning but I can hear the birds singing. No walk for me, I'm going in early with Larry. Maybe I'll get a quick jaunt around town and find something of interest. I need to spend some quality time training our summer student, last week he just got thrown into things because I was busy. However, he seems to be a quick study and catching on. Daisy wet with rain. Lots of Song Sparrows.

Lots to do, summer student will be done in a few weeks and I still have a few things for him to finish up. A chance of thundershowers this afternoon. We lucked out with perfect weather on the long weekend. A little rain certainly won't hurt now, although I prefer to see it overnight. Damselfly on the Phlox.

Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Day 217 - 5th August 2015 - Piping Plover, Seaweed and Waves. I missed my morning walk as I had to go in with Larry yesterday morning. Well I got an extra hour of work - nothing like getting things done behind closed doors. Overall a quiet day, a few phone calls, emails and researchers. An odd shower in the afternoon that passed through quickly but the humidity remains high. Couldn't resist another photo of the Piping Plover from Saturday. Grasses and wildflowers from the shore.

It's going to be a busy and fun day. Black and White Warbler - love these guys. Another beautiful morning on the lake.

Sunday, August 2, 2015. Day 214 - 2nd August 2015 - Black-billed Cuckoo, Boreal Chickadee, Shorebirds and Water Lilies. Foggy out there this morning, but it will no doubt burn off and be nice again. The girls will head back home and I'll roam the hood. Not planning any great amount of activities today. The Black-billed Cuckoo. Handsome guy with that big red eye and long tail. There was only one Piping Plover at Crows Neck Beach that we saw. These were the prettiest water lilies. Day 232 - 20th August 201...
