Oxted Tory: No Increase In Council Tax No Cuts No Redundancies
http://oxtedtory.blogspot.com/2011/03/no-increase-in-council-tax-no-cuts-no.html
The thoughts and reports of a new Conservative Councillor. Tuesday, 22 March 2011. No Increase In Council Tax No Cuts No Redundancies. This is what I and my fellow Conservatives who run Tandridge District Council decided last month. Indeed despite the significant cuts in Government grant brought about by the need to reduce the Country’s budget deficit, the local Conservative councils serving Oxted and Hurst Green have voted not to raise the rate of council tax this year. Tandridge has been able to increa...

The thoughts and reports of a new Conservative Councillor. Sunday, 30 May 2010. Wednesday, 12 May 2010. As a local councillor the most eye catching paragraph. In the coalition statement reads as follows: 'The parties will promote the radical devolution of power and greater financial autonomy to local. Government and community groups. This will include a full review of local government finance.'. This is great news for those of us who believe that decisions. Tuesday, 11 May 2010. Friday, 7 May 2010. A sup...

Oxted Tory: March 2011
http://oxtedtory.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
The thoughts and reports of a new Conservative Councillor. Tuesday, 22 March 2011. 23,000 People Oppose On Street Parking Charges. It is a shame that while Tandrige is trying to protect local businesses by offering shoppers free carparking in Oxted that the County Council is intending to introduce short-sighted charges for on-street parking. No Increase In Council Tax No Cuts No Redundancies. Indeed Tandridge District Council has found savings of around 10% without having to sack a single member of staff...

http://shirleyhoughton.blogspot.com/2007/09/its-family-affair.html
Saturday, 1 September 2007. It's a family affair! Friday 31st August marked the end of a stressful. Week as my hubby, fellow Tower Hamlets Cllr Phil Briscoe, won the selection battle to to be adopted as the CONS GLA candidate for City and East which borders my Lambeth and Southwark GLA constituency. As the votes were being counted I watched the piles grow like any other count, feeling more confident as a gap opened, and was relieved as he was declared "a clear winner". Perfect ending to the week. Dulwich...
