Lincoln College of Technology: Dayton: August 2010
http://southwesterndayton.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Lincoln College of Technology: Dayton. Monday, August 23, 2010. Dead Until Dark' by Charlaine Harris. I sort of knew that I should be expecting the book to be completely ridiculous, but I didn’t really realize the extent of it. The writing and narration are just cheesy enough for me to really latch onto it, and Sookie is unbelievable enough to be a fun main character. Should we be creeped out that Bill keeps referring to Sookie as being “his” human? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Lincoln College of Technology: Toledo. Thursday, September 16, 2010. 8216;A Thousand Acres’ By Jane Smiley. In A Thousand Acres. Smiley rewrites Shakespeare’s King Lear. Even though I have finished this book, I can’t really decide how I feel about it. One reason I feel ambiguous towards A Thousand Acres. And any rewrites) wouldn’t be a tragedy if it were uplifting. Lincoln College of Technology: Florence. Monday, July 18, 2011. Computing like it's 1996. When I ran across. NC1426 .E2 1996), which the front cover describes as “the fun and foibles, the delights and dangers, the quirks and quarks, of life in Computerland,” what I wanted to see was whether computer-related humor had changed significantly since 1996. I’m assuming these computer jokes were funny back in 1996. Would they still be funny now? The New York Times. Look like every day! All in all,.

Lincoln College of Technology: Franklin: 'Monster in the Box' by Ruth Rendell

Lincoln College of Technology: Franklin. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Monster in the Box' by Ruth Rendell. Ruth Rendell has been writing detective novels featuring Inspector Wexford for many years now. I’d be lying if I said I had read them all, but I have read several, and they are typically enjoyable books. Wexford is the Chief Inspector in Kingsmarkham and has a memorable retinue to accompany him on his many cases. Monster in the Box. On the whole, this book was interesting, but I thought it was sligh...

Lincoln College of Technology: Dayton. Thursday, September 23, 2010. 8216;The Five Dysfunctions of a Team (Manga Edition): An Illustrated Leadership Fable’ by Patrick Lencioni. The end of this book gives specific advice for carrying out the team reformation that the author recommends. It’s difficult to say whether this book would be helpful to me if I were actually in a team leadership position. Most of the advice makes sense and is clearly explained. But is the advice too simple? All in all, a wonderful...

Lincoln College of Technology: Dayton. Thursday, June 16, 2011. Walden' by Henry David Thoreau. Is a book that doesn’t really need to be reviewed at this point – it is well-known enough that many have already read it, or at least they know a lot about it. I feel compelled to write about Thoreau's experience, because his life was in many ways an inspiration for other books that I've read recently. Both. Is a great starting point. Walden is available in the Lincoln College Library!
