Homeschool Happenings: January 2013
http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Falf way through our school year. We began on July 9th, and today is day 94 out of a required 180. So, a little over half way though, and things have been going really well so far. We do our own version of a year round schedule, taking breaks as our family needs them or wants to take them. Rachel has gotten better at division, and will be starting the fraction book soon. She is also becoming a better speller. I like the ideas of ...

Homeschool Happenings: First couple days
http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2008/08/first-couple-days.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Yesterday and today went really well. :) Rachel likes her new English curriculum, but thinks the new Reading is "too long." I think it's good for her though, and not as long as she thinks it is. If she motivated herself enough to just sit down and get it done, it wouldn't seem as. I don't want to waste time teaching something she already knows and is good at. A couple first day pics. I'm putting up two since one of them, Rach...

Homeschool Happenings: Update
http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2012/03/update.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Tuesday, March 6, 2012. I do homeschool Alyssa though. She is 4 years old, and does a mixture of preschool and kindergarten work. She is in the Primer book of Math U See. We also do workbook work on various skills and subjects. We no longer live at Sunswept Circle, so I guess we need to think of a new name for our school. I'm just not getting anything clever yet. Until then, we'll keep it Sunswept Classical Academy for now. We're the Learning Locomotives!

Homeschool Happenings: Olympic Flapbook
http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2008/08/olympic-flapbook.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Saturday, August 2, 2008. So, last Thursday Rachel and I started working on her first flapbook! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I like the ideas of the Classical method and some of Charlotte Mason's ideas as well. I've kind of taken things I like from both and combined them together. They're pretty similar anyway, so it's not too hard! We're the Learning Locomotives! Pink and Purple (Much to Brandon's dismay! Back to My Main Blog. Girls in my Garden.

http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2008/09/olympic-flapbook-is-done.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Thursday, September 4, 2008. Olympic Flapbook is DONE! So, we've been done with it for about a week now. Just hadn't taken the pics yet, and posted about it. Maybe once I get a pic, I'll edit and add it. I'm just glad it's done! Rachel really enjoyed making it, and liked learning about the Olympics. I would like to see the pictures. February 1, 2009 at 2:02 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We're the Learning Locomotives! Back to My Main Blog.

Homeschool Happenings: It's the last week of 2007-2008 school year!
http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2008/08/its-last-week-of-2007-2008-school-year.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Monday, August 4, 2008. It's the last week of 2007-2008 school year! So, we'll probably finish that the week of August 18th sometime. I think our next science studies will be Animals/Animal Kingdoms. I'm amazed at how much Rachel has absorbed and retained in her science knowledge! Rachel was disappointed that today we didn't work on the Olympic flapbook since we did science instead. I told her she has to get her morning work done faster then if we're ...

Homeschool Happenings: August 2008
http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Wednesday, August 27, 2008. It's one of those days that I'm glad we don't send Rachel to school! I remember last year when I'd send Rachel off, and it would be raining in the morning. . . . I hated those days! Not to mention the cold days too! No more waiting for Rachel to be out the door to do that. If I need to sleep in, I CAN! If Rachel needs a little more rest, she CAN as well. No more whining when I wake her up at 7:30, "I'm too tired! I'm so glad fo...

Homeschool Happenings: March 2008
http://homeschoolinghappenings.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
What we're learning at Grafton Classical Academy. Friday, March 28, 2008. They also got cups of some kind of red punch with the sandwiches. In the meat/seafood section, the guy brought out a couple of live lobsters and put them on a little cart for the kids to see up close and touch. . . . .ewwww! Rachel quickly touched it, Michaela was having no part in it! That's why we want to homeschool! Hopefully the next 9 weeks flies by! With Michaela, still working on the basics, letter sounds, getting her comfor...
