A city chick with a country soul. November 30, 2016. November 30, 2016. Dear Completely Stressed-Out College Student,. Just a couple of reminders for you. To ward him off, God has given us His word, prayer, and fellow believers. Thank you, God, for those three life-giving resources during difficult times. 4 Rest as frequently as possible when you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and unable to focus. There are times when it would be better to take a 45-minute nap and then focus for two hours of stu...

Abundance – The Rusty Coop
https://therustycoop.wordpress.com/2016/03/17/abundance
A city chick with a country soul. March 17, 2016. An abundance of things. An abundance of friends. An abundance of blessings. And lately, an abundance of gratitude. As I tried my best to hold myself together during the move, I reflected on the source of my, apparent, hoarding tendencies and could see why I have so much. I have been blessed. Abundantly. In every way possible. I could not believe how many pairs of shoes I had! Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Posted in Christian Living.

Under the Oaks – The Rusty Coop
https://therustycoop.wordpress.com/2016/11/29/under-the-oaks
A city chick with a country soul. November 29, 2016. As of the last week or two, it has become obvious to The Outdoorsman and I that Oak is quickly nearing the end of his life. I found him today in an unusual location and it is obvious that he is ready to go. He has stopped eating. Not even peanut butter sandwiches. The dog who will eat anything at all will not eat anything at all. Upon his final breath, he will be buried Under the Oaks at Green Acres. A fitting end to a dog’s tale. Posted in Farm Life.

Everything that Hinders – The Rusty Coop

A city chick with a country soul. August 28, 2016. August 28, 2016. 12 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”. It got me to thinking. Instead of watching TV and looking at mindless articles about celebrities, He helped me to find a “life verse” to help my children and I stay focused and we walked some difficult roads in t...Because I...

More or Less – The Rusty Coop
https://therustycoop.wordpress.com/2015/12/02/more-or-less
A city chick with a country soul. December 2, 2015. December 2, 2015. I believe God is constantly watching and evaluating how we handle the blessings we receive from Him. The friends, the family, the home, the material possessions, and even the money he sends our way. Watching closely to see what we will do with what we have and what He has given us. Are we satisfied? Are we constantly looking for more? Comparing ourselves to others? Well, then, let’s go! 8221; As you have read in my blog “Runaway ...

Weathering the Storm – The Rusty Coop
https://therustycoop.wordpress.com/2016/11/06/weathering-the-storm
A city chick with a country soul. November 6, 2016. November 6, 2016. In past experiences when the storms of life have raged around me, He has been faithful. When my mind has been plagued by worries and fears, He has comforted me. When people and events around me do not make sense, He has reminded me that I need to place my trust in Him.
