Our first production out of the gate garnered us a Best Bet in New York's TimeOut magazine. We then were asked to bring one of the six plays,. Directed by Kathleen Amshoff, up to Sleeping Weazel in Boston, MA. Ryan Whinnem, the artistic director, had extensive conversations with the playwright, Erik Ehn, about the right amount and tone to set in order give a comprehensive view of Ehn's work but also to establish the company's mojo. Those conversations paid off. Performances included:.

Someone Asked If We’d Been Raptured. Monday, July 7th, 2014 at 4:45 pm. It’s been a while since we’ve posted here at The Travel Bags, and here’s why:. Christy’s computer died after the last post. You can’t publish to a blog without a computer. We tried mental telepathy, but it didn’t work. Christy and Ellie flew to Wisconsin for a week for Christy’s grandfather’s funeral. The blog was not a priority. Sorry. Not really sorry. 8211;the site, not the family. The family never un-launched. Nevertheless, in th...

http://sparkandechoband.blogspot.com/2013/03/friday-was-big-day.html
Mar 10, 2013. Friday was a big day. I, Jonathon, currently compose music and design sound for High 5 Games, a leading slot machine company, three days a week. (That's a blog post for another time). That leaves two days during the week for Spark and Echo magic. Friday was one of those days last week and there was lots of magic. In the morning we tended to some business for the arts non-profit–IRS quarterly filing, connecting with artists, and planning for our upcoming Spark and Echo tour. We had a blast p...

Week Three of our tour kicked off with a show at the United Methodist Church in Whitefish Bay, WI, so fun and full of friends that I forgot to take pictures. You will just have to imagine all the smiling faces, old friends from Lawrence University, the Hogans and the Schmidts who came up from IL, the cute church dog, the giant hinged projector screen and all the delicious cookies. We loved being back in Waupaca:. This guy meets Captin Cookie.

The stage at the SHARE House. Coolest sign ever for our show at the Johnson City Acoustic C...

We've had coffee with one of their founders, Brannon McAllister, and he is friendly, generous and wise. Emily has listened to their Paste Holiday Sampler so many times even the neighbors know all the words. The music is free. Here's our link. Eventageous: Spark & Echo at The Living Room, February 2013
http://ellesaur-events.blogspot.com/p/spark-echo-doing-their-thing.html
Spark and Echo at The Living Room, February 2013. Doing their thing. One of the interesting aspects about drawing musicians is deciding how to handle the instrument change - usually I'll start a new drawing, on a new page or the same, but in this case her guitar simply shrunk into a ukelele. Emily on the bassoon. And happily playing the egg. Read his poetry, interspersed between songs. The band playing one of the final shows at The Living Room's. Event date: February 2013.
