DeeplyFelt Studios: Tree Deconstructed
http://www.deeplyfelt.com/2010/11/tree-deconstructed.html
Thursday, November 18, 2010. 8220;She is a tree of life.” . This phrase refers to the Torah. In Kabbalah – the esoteric branch of Judaism – a stylized tree. Is used to describe the path to The Creator – resembling in many ways the Chakras of the Yogic tradition. . Zryeem means seeds, the kernels of life but also of thought and spirituality. I sprinkled them liberally to allow the tree to grow from them. If I had a do-over I would have scattered tiny Hebrew letters because of the beli...November 19, 20...

DeeplyFelt Studios: Disaster Averted
http://www.deeplyfelt.com/2010/01/disaster-averted.html
Wednesday, January 13, 2010. When was the last time you made an error of grey whale proportions? 160; Here’s mine! I read somewhere that steaming felt hats or slippers would create a ‘memory’ in the wool and so the form would hold better. Accordingly I rigged up a rack precariously balanced on two ramekins to keep my slippers above the water in my roasting pan - eerily prophetic that was. Then the phone rang……………. Fortunately my car needed servicing the next day. And the connection there would be? LJ - g...

DeeplyFelt Studios: Week two completed at last.
http://www.deeplyfelt.com/2014/04/week-two-completed-at-last.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Week two completed at last. The week began with an exercise using slow felting wools to crate dime tigon underneath faster felting wool. I used the slow felters to make a snake, varying sizes of balls and a flat thick disk. Since the slow felter was white this also was a bit of an exercise in highlighting as well. Next up was bauble inclusions. Here we have silk cocoon halves, marbles and a beautiful lacquered Chinese bead. Here we have craters. I chose to try different shapes as...

http://www.deeplyfelt.com/2011/05/class-34-gets-down-to-it.html
Monday, May 16, 2011. Class 3/4 Gets Down To It! We began by wetting the piece down well. And then we began to gently work the surface. Part way through the children began to spontaneously sing – the clips are quick so turn up those speakers. Once we were safely at the prefelt stage we took it outside to stomp and log roll it. Ok that’s enough for now. Come back soon and see the next instalment! Posted by Helen ilana = Hi. I cant wait for the next installment! May 16, 2011 3:17 am. May 16, 2011 7:33 am.

DeeplyFelt Studios: More From The Junk Mail Wilderness
http://www.deeplyfelt.com/2009/12/more-from-junk-mail-wilderness.html
Sunday, December 20, 2009. More From The Junk Mail Wilderness. I somehow came across one of your posts while looking up felting. I was looking for natural toys online for my kids, and on one website, there was a a felting kit and then some random balls of wool, pieces of wool for kids to felt. I was curious and I am still trying to figure out what it is. Note to self: try to teach email client that anything regarding felt or felting should not be consigned to the junkmail dungeon. In needlefelting, the...
