The Christian Bookshops Blog: Christian Bookshops: who needs them? Part 2
http://christianbookshops.blogspot.com/2008/07/christian-bookshops-who-needs-them-part.html
The Christian Bookshops Blog. Sunday, 20 July 2008. Christian Bookshops: who needs them? Of Unicorn Tree Books, Lincoln. Posted the following back on May 28th. In the ' Christian Bookshops — who needs them? Thread. That thread remains the all-time most-visited post on this blog and Melanie's comments seem to raise several important points from that discussion. Had to join in here. And just put forward a few (okay a lot of) views and thoughts based on the discussion. But being christian we settled out of ...

I have always fed my ducks on bread and they come waddling enthusiastically over to me quacking merrily (if thats what you can say about ducks quacking? And they seem to thoroughly to enjoy their bread. But I have now been told that bread is not good for my ducks. So what am i to do? What a dilemma for my happy ducks? Welcome to blog land - i look forward to your random thoughts - I hope not just about ducks! 3 September 2008 at 03:43.

Augustine of Canterbury: I'm not going to Rome
http://augustineofcanterbury.blogspot.com/2009/10/like-many-anglo-catholics-ive-had-long.html
Free Blog Hit Counter. Get your twitter mosaic here. Friday, 23 October 2009. I'm not going to Rome. Like many Anglo-Catholics I've had a long love affair with city of Rome, all things Italian (& Roman) and the prospect of visible Christian Unity, but even if Benedict 16th asked me personally I wouldn't become a Roman Catholic because;-. The reformation was necessary. And why did it then take 400 years to admit that, for example, services in the local / vernacular language were a good idea? Clearly not i...

Augustine of Canterbury: Apostolic Succession: an Anglo-Catholic Fetish
http://augustineofcanterbury.blogspot.com/2009/12/apostolic-succession-anglo-catholic.html
Free Blog Hit Counter. Get your twitter mosaic here. Tuesday, 29 December 2009. Apostolic Succession: an Anglo-Catholic Fetish. It's an appealing, comforting, affirming and rather romantic idea that the hands laid on my head at ordination go back in an unbroken line, over the centuries, to St Peter himself. But does it really have any meaning or consequence? So the succession by just itself isn't a guarantee of anything. Surely it would be better for us as Christians to locate authorisation for ministry ...

Augustine of Canterbury: Anglo-Papalist or Anglo-Catholic
http://augustineofcanterbury.blogspot.com/2009/12/anglo-papalist-or-anglo-catholic.html
Free Blog Hit Counter. Get your twitter mosaic here. Friday, 11 December 2009. In any debate it's important to define the terms. Often in the definition lies the root of the disagreement and occasionally the seeds of a solution. My definitions include:-. This group whilst nominally Anglican looks to Rome for their teaching and inspiration. But more than that they look to Rome for their very raison d'être and long to be reunited with the Roman Catholic Church. They regret the reformation and see l...If th...

Augustine of Canterbury: Benedict XVI - A Disastrous Papacy
http://augustineofcanterbury.blogspot.com/2010/07/benedict-xvi-disastrous-papacy.html
Free Blog Hit Counter. Get your twitter mosaic here. Thursday, 29 July 2010. Benedict XVI - A Disastrous Papacy. I've just very politely declined to be in the congregation at Westminster Abbey when Benedict XVI visits in September. Why? Because I can't in all conscience give my support to the worst papacy in living memory. I would have been absolutely delighted to have worshipped along side John XXIII because he was a saintly reformer. But Benedict XVI is an altogether different character. If you were to...

Augustine of Canterbury: Papal Mass Only £25
http://augustineofcanterbury.blogspot.com/2010/07/papal-mass-only-25.html
Free Blog Hit Counter. Get your twitter mosaic here. Friday, 23 July 2010. Papal Mass Only £25. Isn't it a sin to sell the sacraments for money? I just wondered if the £25 it costs for parking and a 'pilgrim pack' at the UK Birmingham Mass was really just a way of cover up a 25 quid charge for a papal mass? That's not quite right is it? Posted by Augustine of Canterbury. I would not be surprised if they start selling Indulgences next to make up the shortfall in income. 23 July 2010 at 15:07. I think you ...
