Thinking, Planning: January 2008
http://april-line.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
This chick is writing. Thursday, January 31, 2008. My Boss has Karaoke in her office. My boss is really fun. She's full of creative ideas and always has chocolate kicking around her office. There is unflattering speculation regarding her level of productivity. But I have few doubts. But this Karaoke machine in her office- sober karaoke is therapeutic. Possibly cathartic. It was exhilarating like driving too fast crooning loudly to Green Day. The non-present-just-a-wall-away audience empowered my noise...

Thinking, Planning: The Quest for Clicks

This chick is writing. Monday, July 25, 2011. The Quest for Clicks. I'm sitting at Starbucks with Robin Kaye. Brainstorming ideas for how to get people looking at our website. We're looking at great blogs by people in and out of the Romance industry. Here's a great one. If you're a working writer, or if you're holding a manuscript in your hands and asking, "What next? We also really like Mia Marlowe's Red Pencil Thursday. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Does blogging seem vain to anybody else? Awesom...

Thinking, Planning: Free Short Story: Cliff Hanging
http://april-line.blogspot.com/2011/08/free-short-story-cliff-hanging.html
This chick is writing. Monday, August 8, 2011. Free Short Story: Cliff Hanging. My lover leaves in one of those spectaularly dramatic, painful flurries of shouting and loving and self-loathing. Takes my intestines and pleasure along for the ride. I used to doubt that people really “didn’t see it coming.”. That morning we cuddle before work, nuzzle and say love yous. And no joke, two hours after the door snicks shut behind him, my sister calls to say our mom died. It feels like a hangover:. I say, and thi...

Thinking, Planning: March 2008
http://april-line.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
This chick is writing. Sunday, March 9, 2008. Craigslist and what's happening to me? Something has happened to me. I don't know what it is, but Craigslist is no longer my favorite thing in the world. Wow. Instead of at least one page under each heading each day, there are 0-3. Maybe 4 or 5 on some select days. Perhaps the reason I found the personals so distressing today is because I have not been feeling so malcontent in my aloneness lately. I mean, who wouldn't like to get laid? Wednesday, March 5, 2008.

Thinking, Planning: Book Group: Read the Free Short Story, "Cliff Hanging" first, okay?
http://april-line.blogspot.com/2011/08/book-group-read-free-short-story-cliff.html
This chick is writing. Monday, August 8, 2011. Book Group: Read the Free Short Story, "Cliff Hanging" first, okay? So like if we were really a book group, there are spoilers in here, so if you didn't note the title of this here blog post, go read the story first, m'kay? So I think I've lost it. I have read too many romance novels. My mind is now too addled to write literary fiction. At least I'm writing, right? Anyhow. Since I don't live in a town with any of my writing friends anymore, I want you al...

Thinking, Planning: July 2008
http://april-line.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
This chick is writing. Sunday, July 20, 2008. What I just realized about my Blog. First, I want to express why I think that writing is my art of choice. I never tire of reading my own words. I re-read each e-mail, I just read the last dozen or so blog posts I've put here. When I have considered other artistic pursuits, I have been moodily turned-off by the notion of absorbing my own work. For some reason, critique in writing classes was exhilarating. I don't know. But I know it was. Tuesday, July 8, 2008.

Thinking, Planning: June 2008
http://april-line.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
This chick is writing. Friday, June 27, 2008. At the lip of a downward spiral. Today is the first day I feel like myself again. Since our little run-in with the law, I have been sort of revelling in self-pity. Despite Cash Bash (where I got money, free food and booze and an iPod Nano. Just for selling some Subarus! Hanging out with groovy peeps. QT with Ms. P, getting at least one new fan of my blog and having some small successes at work. Who gave the DVD players brains? Tuesday, June 24, 2008. My mom a...

Thinking, Planning: On Truth and Creative Nonfiction
http://april-line.blogspot.com/2011/08/on-truth-and-creative-nonfiction.html
This chick is writing. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. On Truth and Creative Nonfiction. I went to Pitt, allegedly the birthplace of creative nonfiction, for a semester for graduate school. Something that got paid a lot of lip-service was the role of truth in Creative Nonfiction. Here's where I've landed on the matter. Just today actually. First some back story:. Boy-oh was that a liberating epiphany. The stuff I know is enough. And unless there's some political or social or moral reason for the whole j...Hey- ...
