Up Your Street: October 2012
http://upyourstreet.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 27, 2012. 18th Century Style Infant Jesus. This is how the Nino looks in the nicho. I made it for. A nicho is a small shrine,. Often made of tin, as is this one. I added a LED candle just to see how it looks lighted. The candle is too big of course. I intend to copper leaf the floor of the nicho. To help reflect light. Then I will add a couple of vials. Of dirt from Chimayo, New Mexico. Links to this post. Wednesday, October 24, 2012. St Toribio Romo Gonzalez, Terry Nelson.

Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Virgin of the Apocalypse. Virgin of the Apocalypse - scan, detail. 12" x 15" mixed media on paper. My first finished work of the new year. It is too large for the scanner and floats slightly above the window, which causes the image to be blurry and dark. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Etsy shop: DOGWOOD DETAILS. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. A new painting in the works. I've been working on it for months and now it is at the point where I think I can give a preview. Two photos - snap shots - give a hint what lies beneath the over exposed image. The work remains unfinished, but this is a narrative I posted in the com box at my other blog where the painting is shown:. The ordinary people are the faithful and they look to the apparition of the Virgin, making intercession with her to the Trinity. before my conversion...

Catholic Culture and Society: I never understood the incarnation until I had children
http://catholiccultureandsociety.blogspot.com/2013/01/i-never-understood-incarnation-until-i.html
Catholic Culture and Society. This blog is about : Organic Catholicism. My Other Blog . . . . . My Musings of Current Societal Interests. Thursday, January 3, 2013. I never understood the incarnation until I had children. Because I never understood, not the willingness to sacrifice, but the longing to sacrifice without any reward but the good of those who are my own. Christ making us his own is not accidental to his sacrifice, but essential to the act. Posted by love the girls. This blog is at human scale.
