Collective Thoughts of a Ginrod: November 2006
http://ginrod.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 28, 2006. SE Asians have this natural ability to keep their heads above water under any circumstance. Take my grandmother for example. She bore 12 children naturally, put most of them through university, lost three of them and her husband and she still manages to do shadow kung fu with me in living rooms. And the longer this man is on the run, the more all us women of Tel Aviv are gonna be more and more pissed off. Posted by The Ginrod @ 8:33 AM. Friday, November 24, 2006. I ask as I pu...

Collective Thoughts of a Ginrod: July 2006
http://ginrod.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 29, 2006. As the war continues to drag on- slowly, but surely my friends and acquaintances are being called up. One by one they are receiving the call to change into their uniforms and serve. Tsiki's best friend was called up last week. "Where are you going" I naively asked him. "eh- near Hebron Sooz". I heard the awkwardness in his voice. "Near Hebron Elad? Near Hebron as in around the area where Tsiki was killed Hebron? Posted by The Ginrod @ 8:45 AM. Sunday, July 23, 2006. Sure did....

Collective Thoughts of a Ginrod: February 2007
http://ginrod.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Last month, when I met with another Rabbi in regards to my progression in my conversion, I was quite torn. On one hand, I really wanted some guidance in knowing what to expect for the duration of my conversion, on the other hand, my soul was doing flip after flip trying to make sense of my transition, and my health was worrying to a critical point. All my symptoms. Were pointing to a reality not even I could ignore- but I had to, I needed to focus on what the Rabbi would say.

Collective Thoughts of a Ginrod: April 2007
http://ginrod.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2007. I'm enjoying living in a constant climate all day. What I mean of course is the fact the the weather is so moderate outside- that there is hardly a difference between the temperature inside vs. out. The only difference is that my freckles play mating games on my face because of the stark sunshine. Suddenly think they are 25 again and wear the spandex to prove it. The last time I wore spandex, it had to be in the 90s when everyone was wearing neon wind shorts. Walking towards a fri...

Collective Thoughts of a Ginrod: January 2007
http://ginrod.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 31, 2007. As a child, I was hand fed Bago'ong by my grandmother. As she would try to feed me other foods, I would shake my blonde head and say "no, no Nanay, I want the fish with the eyes. She would then take a jar out of the fridge and spoon out tiny (as in the size of your thumbnail) salted fish, wrap them in a ball of rice and pop them into my hungry mouth. But susi, my mom answered, these baby fish grow into fish with scales.". After many weeks of playing stump the Rabbi,. My tutor...

Collective Thoughts of a Ginrod: August 2006
http://ginrod.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 28, 2006. The Smell of Death. The smell started about 9 days ago. It came in through the toilet and the bathroom. Tel Aviv heat seemed to have reach it's peak in the last week and I was certain a new mold colony found it's way into a deep corner of our small bathroom. I lifted the plastic tubs and sniffed, I opened the cupboard and stuck my head in. "Is it from the inside or the outside? He asked. "Arbe (many)", replied my roommate. Posted by The Ginrod @ 8:53 AM. Collective Thoughts of a Ginrod: October 2006
http://ginrod.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Random thoughts of a Ginrod. Do you all know what Foetus in Foetu is? It's a rare condition which deals with the embryonic development of twins. Except, one of the embryo's grows inside of the other one. So -normal twin grows and grows and then one day, feels some movement in his abdomen and walla- there is his long lost twin, living as a parasite inside his abdomen. Some of these lesser twins have been found to have hair, teeth. Half a head. Shivers down my spine I tell you.

If one cannot balance their sadness with a spoonful of happiness. well, then we wouldn't need night to have day. Black to have white. If you can't appreciate this song with enthusiasm.
