Sunday, January 28, 2007. Yarn: 12 KP Andean Silk in Chocolate. Needles: Addi Circulars in US #6, 7 (8 for bind off). I finally got the courage to sew on the buttons last Thursday evening. Yes, it took me almost a month to get the courage to sew buttons on this. I'm still not sure on the placement though. It still needs a good blocking but that will come later. Thanks Bonne Marie for an excellent pattern! Posted by Bear Knits at 7:17 AM. Saturday, January 27, 2007. Phew, Blogger move went ok. I already h...

Saturday, May 30, 2015. Two little girls with no summer nighties. An orange-y and a white-y! For the white peasant nightie I used the pattern from Leila and Ben. The orange nightie was made from this tutorial. Both were made from men's T-shirts. Links to this post. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Meadow Mushrooms and May Lambs. While the nice rains have been falling, the ground has been softening up, and guess what's popping through? Can you spot two meadow agaricus in the pasture? I found out today that the Wo...

Brigid's Farm Blog: INDIGO AND THE ECONOMY OF COLOR
http://www.brigidsfarmblog.com/2013/06/indigo-and-economy-of-color.html
Our farm is located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Sunday, June 23, 2013. INDIGO AND THE ECONOMY OF COLOR. Traditionally indigo is a dye that has required patience and time. It is unlike other natural dye materials in that it doesn't readily dissolve in water. It must be reduced, a process which removes the oxygen from the dye vat thus making the indigo available to the fiber. Anything less deposits the color on the fiber but not into the fiber. After many attempts to use the modern. I mentioned th...

bionicknitter: October 2008
http://bionicknitter.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 26, 2008. Check out this yarn! It's called PolarKnit, which I purchased at The Loopy Ewe. Such a fun place to shop - they have an incredible, unusual selection of all things yarny. It's such a cool yarn - very thick and knits up super fast. Here's the start of Sam's hat:. I started it this morning using size 10 needles (I cast-on with size 11s) and knitted for maybe 1/2 hour to get to this point. I'm adding onto this post this evening to say the hat is FINISHED! Halcyon Days: June 2011
http://halcydays.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 3, 2011. Anyway, I brought home some cheery bright yellow sock yarn from here. And some lovely periwinkle blue cashmere/merino from here. To make a scarf. But the find of the day for me was sock yarn from into the whirled. And then Ted Allen stands there scowling trying to reign them all in. Who knew that would be a winning combination?
