Spinning a Yarn

Sunday, 12 May 2013. I don't find it as easy to find interesting knitting patterns for boys as I do for girls. But these ones make me want to cast on NOW! Never mind all the other projects on the go! Of course, these would all be adorable on little girls too, but I think they work especially well for boys. I think this would be lovely with a hood too. Lots of these designers have published other funky patterns too, so be sure to click through and have a look at their other designs. Links to this post.

Spinning a Yarn: Renovation :: Studio Space

http://spinningayarnblog.blogspot.com/2012/09/renovation-studio-space.html

Thursday, 20 September 2012. Renovation : Studio Space. I have a few more renovation pictures to share, of the house in Auckland. This space has been a good record of all the work we put into our first home, and I'd like it to be complete. This is Muriel, who you first met here. Muriel came with the 'games room' which I turned studio. Those who know me or visited my studio, know this was a 'creative space' which is a polite euphemism for hellishly messy most of the time. We have a date this week! I love ...

Spinning a Yarn: Little Lady Knits

http://spinningayarnblog.blogspot.com/2013/05/little-lady-knits.html

Friday, 10 May 2013. I've been spending some time on Ravelry lately looking at all the lovely patterns there are for little lasses and lads. We haven't found out what flavour the baby is, so I've (mostly) been making gender neutral knits in gender neutral colours since we found out we were pregnant. Here are a few of my (current) favourites for little girls. I've actually knit this one! Pattern available in baby and toddler sizes- look for the e-book with both patterns in it. 6 months to 10 years sizes).

CHOPKINS-KNITS. some woolly thinking (and other stuff) by chop'kins. Wednesday, 6 May 2015. One or two things I made earlier. Of course I do - and shoes too. All the shoes come from the Debbie Bliss book, Ultimate Baby Knits. I have used these patterns again and again since the book was sent to me by the publishers to review. One pair of these shoes makes a great little baby present. Simple Jacket pattern by Debbie Bliss. Buttons by Kath Kidston. A button instead of a tie, another from Kath Kidston.

CHOPKINS-KNITS. some woolly thinking (and other stuff) by chop'kins. Tuesday, 21 October 2014. If you follow my blog regularly you are forgiven for wondering if I ever finish anything. So in case you do think this today I give you The Finished Object! My Waterlilly from the spring edition of Pompom Quarterly. When I was at unravel in March. And then I made the (unusual for me) decision to buy the correct yarn, Islington. From Linda of Kettle Yarn when I visited her stand at WonderWool Wales. I'm so glad ...

CHOPKINS-KNITS. some woolly thinking (and other stuff) by chop'kins. Tuesday, 25 November 2014. They are not my knitting/sewing/reading glasses! There was a time when we used to tease my Mother-in-law about her spectacle collection. She would be cooking and searching for her glasses. Because there were pairs everywhere around the house, one of the grandchildren would quickly rush up with a pair. No no they are my television glasses'. No they are for knitting'. This is some of her work. Mine, all mine.

CHOPKINS-KNITS. some woolly thinking (and other stuff) by chop'kins. Tuesday, 27 May 2014. I am a big fan of Annie, a lovely lady who blogs as Knitsofacto. You may ask how I can be so certain about her character if I only know her from her blog (and you would be right) well it is because she has responded to every comment I make on her blog. Sometimes she will make a comment here and, once when I asked her a technical question about Blogger, she e mailed me the solution. How kind is that? 7 For lent this...

CHOPKINS-KNITS. some woolly thinking (and other stuff) by chop'kins. Saturday, 21 March 2015. More Catching up (including on the laundry). But back to my need for a coat. It was clear as we looked out of the window the first morning we woke up in our Gite in Viens (in the hills a little north and west of Arles) that borrowing a coat from JTH was not going to work, a coat each was required. From the sitting room window. So we drove to Avignon for some shopping, where of course the sun shone. I am off now,...

CHOPKINS-KNITS. some woolly thinking (and other stuff) by chop'kins. Friday, 8 May 2015. Well I joked that she would wait until I had finished all the knitting and perhaps she did! After all the baby chat I thought a photo or two would be in order. Meet Isabella Harriet, born in the middle of our general election, weighing 9lb 7oz. Delivered with the utmost care by our incomparable NHS. Proud Granny but also a little fearful for her's and the future of other children born at this time. 9 May 2015 at 01:25.

Spinning A Yarn in First Grade. View my complete profile. Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Paint Me a Happy Teacher! It is amazing what a little time, a lot of effort, and a gallon of paint can do! Spinning Babies Blog

Changing the world by communicating about childbirth. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. You can tell if your baby is engaged. Sometimes the posterior baby's head seems low in the pelvis when checked by vaginal exam. The nurse, doctor, or midwife feels the dome of the head and it doesn't wiggle. So, they think, the head is not ballottable, and that equals engaged. Therefore, the head is engaged. Ask, Is baby overlapping the pubic bone? Is baby Occiput Posterior and unable to engage? If the mother feels little h...
