Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Isaiah 61 and 62. The Savior and Saviors of Men. States the mission of Jesus Christ. He is "to preach good tidings unto the meek," to "bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound." He is also to "proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn.". Bind up the brokenhearted. Christ's atonement allows God's eternal family to live together again.

Sunday, January 29, 2006. Don as a Sunbeam. Our primary is having an activity this Saturday. Part of the activity is for the kids to get to know their teachers. The presidency wanted us to send them a picture of when we were a primary student. I dug up this one and "digitized" it (I just took a picure of it with my digital camera). The Primary party was on Saturday. I had about, literally, 15 people come up to me that day and say how much Ben and I look alike. Tuesday, January 24, 2006. Coat of Arms 2.

Thursday, February 19, 2009. Isaiah 59 and 60. Sins and Iniquities and Transgressions. I am listening to Avraham Gildeadi tonight while reading Isaiah. He mentioned that there is a difference between sin and iniquity. Sin is when we do something wrong - when we transgress God's law. We are responsible for our own sins. Iniquity, on the other hand is the effects of sin on later generations. (see Exodus 20:5. The works of the people described in Isaiah 59:5-8. Are a perfect description of our society today.

Sunday, January 27, 2008. Isaiah 26 and 27. The 26th chapter of Isaiah contains some wonderful verses about trusting in the Lord and prayer. Trust in the Lord. The first verse about trusting in the Lord is found in Isaiah 26:3. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Saturday, January 26, 2013. Every year, our stake have a "Commitment Fireside" for all the 11-year-olds. I think it is really neat . they talk about some very important issues with these kids, right at the cusp of their teenage years. At the end of the fireside, they commit to keeping the commandments and being pure. The theme, in previous years, has been King Benjamin from the Book of Mormon . the fireside speakers speak from a tower while all the kids and their parents sit in tents. Anyway - cool stuff!
