Thursday, July 29, 2010. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Our body is our canvas, one of our primary means of self-expression. We clean it, sculpt it, feed it, starve it, push it to its muscular and energetic limits. We adorn it with clothing, cosmetics, jewelry, tattoos and piercings. We use it to dance, to celebrate, to experience pleasure and pain. We use it to communicate in a way inaccessible through words.". The Beauty of Body Art. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. It is we who must follow the most deterritorialized line, the line of the scapegoat, but (.) turn it into the positive line of our subjectivity, our passion, our proceeding, or grievance." -DeLeuze and Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus- Capitalism and Schizophrenia. the auspicious: Layer One
http://ajunat.blogspot.com/2010/10/layer-one.html
Thursday, October 7, 2010. The next layer would consist of photographic and illustrated imagery to illuminate the content. As the days creep past I have given myself a deadline of the 10th to have all my spreads ready. Looks impersonal and machine made with the distinct whiff of adobe illustrator about it. I need to remedy this with hand lettering and illustrations. Screw things up a bit (Or a lot.). Whoops. i commented on another post for this one :). October 12, 2010 at 10:23 AM. I found this today.

http://ajunat.blogspot.com/2010/10/i-had-this-idea-to-create-pattern-for.html
Monday, October 11, 2010. I had this idea to create a pattern for the endpapers of my book by illustrating symbols and constructs that fall into categories of auspicious/inauspicious. These are a few examples, I will have to manipulate and work on them further. The people are based on the illustrations in a manuscript dating from 1837, which I found on Bibliodyssey. I may also try incorporating the style of lettering of the descriptive captions. I want screen print thsi on something! I found this today.
