Our first hike of the spring took up two peaks, Mt. Easter and Sharon Mountain. We started at the trailhead on West Cornwall Road and ended at the intersection of highways 112 and 7, just before the AT crosses the Housatonic River. This blog will follow two intrepid Alaskans, Kennison Martin and Jason Wilkins, as they attempt to hike the New England portion of the Appalachian Trail, one bit at a time. The idea was born from a love of the outdoors, a yearning to experience a great piece of American history, and the lack of funds and time needed to hike the entirety of the AT in one go.

Apr 15, 2011. I wanted to drop a line to let you all know about a new blog Kenn and I started, dubbed Sporadic Meanderings. This will chronicle a project we started at the beginning of this spring, in which Kenn and I will section-hike all of the Appalachian Trail in New England. This summer, we will focus on Connecticut, then move on to Massachusetts and beyond. We will try to update after each hike with pictures, impressions and so-on. Keep an eye out and enjoy!
