Day 270, Thursday, 24 December, 2009. After the extreme heat of yesterday and last night, today was pleasantly cool. We walked into Bicycle SA’s offices in the city to make some enquiries regarding our route out of Adelaide next week, and then picked up some food to last us the next few days. Rundle Mall was very busy with last minute Christmas shoppers. Day 271, Friday, 25 December, 2009. We spent the afternoon at Adelaide’s Himeji Garden a very pleasant oasis from the dryness of the adjacent parklands.

Day 358, Monday, 22 March, 2010. On the ‘ About. Page of our website we mention the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney has a bike on display ridden around Australia in 1899 by Donald Mackay . Our discovery of this bicycle in 2008 became another piece of our justification that it was practical for us to undertake the same journey in 2009. The only conclusion Denise and I can draw from reading about his journey is that he was a very tough and determined character. Day 359, Tuesday, 23 March, 2010.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Mazda has a range of about 500kms towing, depending on conditions, so we liked having the back up. We had the wind blowing us down the H'way, so it was good travelling.
