BAKING THE WORLD A HAPPIER PLACE. Archive for April, 2011. The Vanilla Bakery – A progress report. On April 25, 2011 1 Comment. We sometimes look at each other whilst frantically serving customers at the market stall, and in both our eyes is a look that says in the same vein of Talking Heads, ‘How did I get here? So it was the cheap rent, the cost of a stall and the summoning of courage that made the prospect possible. Read Full Post ». On April 20, 2011 1 Comment. So we will have…. Tartlets – Trea...

BAKING THE WORLD A HAPPIER PLACE. Archive for May, 2010. C is for cookie. On May 10, 2010 3 Comments. I have a secret passion for cookie cutters. The thrill of a new one arriving by mail, is quickly followed by a creating session. I like to be able to make them as realistic as possible, which is why I’ve chosen to show you how I made these baby vest cookies, or onesies depending on which side of the pond you’re from. Roll on greaseproof paper to prevent the dough sticking. Now for the fun part…Have...

Size matters not. Judge me by my size do you? I am going to be talking about a few past cakes, as now with a blog I get to indulge myself and tell you all about how they were created…. And how I missed out on the big SW I’m not sure? Four madeira sponges later and his body was layered up, (four were needed for his height)...

Glummy Mummy: Rant, rant, rant.
http://glummymummy.blogspot.com/2011/03/rant-rant-rant.html
Driving me mental behind closed doors. Thursday, 3 March 2011. Rant, rant, rant. Lately, on an average of once a day, maybe more on a special occasion, I have found many, many things to rant about in my life. Today's is to do with Daughter's cookery class. She chose Chinese food as her cultural topic, and so her group has to make their own course for a meal. Daughter chose 'side' and then found a recipe for spring rolls, which I had to then find the ingredients for. Let me tell you, it was not bloody easy.

Driving me mental behind closed doors. Wednesday, 23 February 2011. I have the memory of a dumb umbrella stand. Who just had a knock on the head.
