Random Thoughts and Pictures. Sunday, March 24, 2013. But it wasn’t the same. The reasons are well-documented—the old communities and were broken up, extended families became fragmented and there were hardly any shops or community facilities in the schemes. Monday, March 04, 2013. Adventures in Chick Lit. Exhibit A: Hot Flush by Helen Fitzgerald. A forty-something probation officer, feeling frumpy and unappreciated in her childless marriage, shoplifts and joyrides in a stolen car with one of her clie...

Random Thoughts and Pictures: Book therapy
http://digitalesse.blogspot.com/2012/11/book-therapy.html
Random Thoughts and Pictures. Wednesday, November 14, 2012. I have a new book to cheer myself up—a book of photographs by André Kertész. It's actually a present of sorts, because I'm still lost in the relapse wilderness. I'm very grateful and I love the book. I would have bought it myself. I love looking at photo books and I enjoy designing my own, but when the next body of work is going to appear is anyone's guess. The what, when, where and how of my next project has yet to come in to view. Really sorry...

Random Thoughts and Pictures: Adventures in Chick Lit
http://digitalesse.blogspot.com/2013/03/adventures-in-chick-lit_4.html
Random Thoughts and Pictures. Monday, March 04, 2013. Adventures in Chick Lit. I'm no expert on literature. I read the book. I enjoy it—or maybe sometimes I don't. And that's it. I couldn't dissect a novel into its component parts or talk of devices or syntax. So, forgive my somewhat superficial opinions. So here goes:. Chick lit or not, I've never really read much contemporary fiction—years and years and years of cognitive problems and all that. I once had a profound thought about all the book...Hey Dig...

Markers Along the Way: February 2009
http://markersalongtheway.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Markers Along the Way. Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far the Lord has helped us'" [1 Samuel 7:12]. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Ok I've been out for awhile doing some minor adjustments to my living room. I painted the walls a delightful shade of blue, replaced the 20 year old furniture and added an HDTV. I've done what I can to stimulate the economy as well as give my place a new look! How many of our old ways. Are no longer working for us?

Markers Along the Way. Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far the Lord has helped us'" [1 Samuel 7:12]. Saturday, August 22, 2009. Confessions of a Control Freak. I've always prided myself on my flexibility and easy-going nature. I thought the Commodores were describing me when they sang,. Easy, like Sunday morning. Would you believe I want things. Of course, it's only because I know my way is the best way! There is a third alternative. I ...

Markers Along the Way: Lessons Learned Along the Way

Markers Along the Way. Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far the Lord has helped us'" [1 Samuel 7:12]. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Lessons Learned Along the Way. Well, Mom is settled in her new home and her transition is complete. I am still settling in with the lessons to be learned from the transition. It's always amazing how much hindsight I have! It must be a gift! So, what have I learned? And that may be a very good lesson to stop and ap...

Markers Along the Way: Stepping Out
http://markersalongtheway.blogspot.com/2009/08/stepping-out.html
Markers Along the Way. Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far the Lord has helped us'" [1 Samuel 7:12]. Monday, August 24, 2009. As I read from the words describing my blog . Thus far the Lord has helped us. I should be very confident that He will continue leading me on down the path that is in front of me. But fears lurk behind every turn. My brain screams. Not what if God isn't there, but what if I make a mistake? What if I disappoint others?

Markers Along the Way. Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far the Lord has helped us'" [1 Samuel 7:12]. Saturday, August 23, 2008. I recently heard a new friend saying that she plans her birthday celebrations far in advance. I was impressed! Our family recently celebrated several birthdays and only one was called. Years create a more significant. I have a birthday coming up. It's not significant as defined by a zero on the end, but it is b...

Markers Along the Way. Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far the Lord has helped us'" [1 Samuel 7:12]. Friday, July 31, 2009. In that first post I wrote, "learning to pause when the markers merit reflection helps us adjust to the changing landscape of our lives." One year later I am pausing to reflect, and working to adjust, to some recent changes. We shall see . Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Resili...
