Cheshire Cats Capers: Around the Kenai, Alaska
http://mikeandcarole2010.blogspot.com/2015/07/around-kenai-alaska.html
Avoiding bears, mountain lions and Exmoor sheep! Monday, 27 July 2015. Around the Kenai, Alaska. As we drove towards Soldotna, quite early, well early for us, we saw our first moose, they’re much bigger than we realised, but I think they’re quite cute, although not so cute I’d like to get any closer to them. We watched as they contentedly browsed through the marsh, before continuing on our way. One of the first places we visited was Captain Cook State Recreation Area. When we eventually arrived at Captai...

Cheshire Cats Capers: January 2015
http://mikeandcarole2010.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Avoiding bears, mountain lions and Exmoor sheep! Friday, 30 January 2015. It was time to leave Raton, so on yet another sunny, but chilly morning, we joined I25. When we left it was 43F and windy, but with the wind behind us most of the way, it practically blew us south. Amazing what a difference a following wind makes to fuel economy! There was snow on the mountains around Cimarron, but by the time we reached Santa Fe, although it was still cold, the snow had disappeared. Last year our Grand Canyon hiki...

Cheshire Cats Capers: Old Town Kenai, Alaska
http://mikeandcarole2010.blogspot.com/2015/07/old-town-kenai-alaska.html
Avoiding bears, mountain lions and Exmoor sheep! Tuesday, 28 July 2015. Old Town Kenai, Alaska. The Kenai visitor centre has a small museum with lots of interesting exhibits, I rather fell for these beautiful beaded gloves. Around the corner from the visitor centre is old town Kenai, originally home to Russian fur traders and native Kenaitze indians. The church, chapel and rectory are examples of Russian style architecture on the far western frontier. DB had a half beef and cheddar sandwich and coffee, I...

RVing With Poppa: In and Out...
http://rvingwithpoppa.blogspot.com/2014/08/in-and-out.html
Wednesday, August 6, 2014. August 1, 2014. I think we have set our all time record for service in and out of Red Bay. After Bruce finished the body work on Wednesday and Thursday last week and the jacks were replaced on Friday, we figured our paperwork would be shuffled back with the others and the wait for the three hour bay would start. However, late Friday afternoon, we got a call to report to Bay 32 on Monday morning! Wow, record time indeed! So, Saturday morning, we dropped the motor home off at.
