Tuesday, June 3, 2008. This is my final presentation for my major project, I'm really happy with how the model turned out, it was a lot of work, but i learnt a lot about paper tubing in construction and also unconventional construction methods, such as the roofing membrane. Posted 5 years ago. See our truss breaking! Posted 5 years ago. We have choosen to compare our truss to the trusses that were designed by group 29 and 34. With a break at 22 000 kPa our truss was the third strongest! The truss didn’t break as we thought it would. (See the sketch in the previous post). Under pressure the plywood wants to buckle, the nails are suppose to take up the shear and prevent the plywood to buckle out which will cause a break of the truss.
