I ran into one problem after I had successfully installed Solaris 10 x86 on my Dell D830 laptop. Looking at the dmesg and ifconfig output more closely revealed that Solaris 10 x86 5/09 didn’t recognize my laptop’s built-in (wired) gigabit ethernet adapter, which turns out is a NetXtreme BCM5755M Gigabit Ethernet PCI express.
