The SSME track was the largest of two tracks built in 1967 by Roy Summersby, for a commercial venture at Woy Woy on the New South Wales central coast. The Woy Woy centre closed in the early 1970's when the slot car boom died, and the tracks were sold. The small track went to Boy's Town, Engadine NSW. The current whereabouts of the small track is unknown, but is suspected to have been broken up and dumped. The racing surface is painted with light grey paving paint, and routed for the 1/4 wide copper braid.

Falcon Vs Commodore Flexi car series, Jan 08. Slot cars (as we know them today) have been around since the late 1950's, and have been available in many scales. The most popular (commercially available) scales are 1/64 (HO), 1/43, 1/32, and 1/24. Our track is most suitable for 1/32 and 1/24 scales. While others can work, they are not generally used. For club racing on Wednseday nights, cars used are 1/24 scale factory made 'flexi' chassis using stock Super 16D motors.
