At the Heart of the Community in Gorse Hill, Swindon. The church flourished and the services were well attended. In 1873 a school opened at the iron church, with 20 pupils, however, by 1877 foundations were being laid for a new school in what we now know as Avening Street. With the church building not being used as a school, other groups began meeting and more attention was paid to the choir and the Sunday school. The story of the Murals was written by their creator, Revd John Perret in 1949 and was published in the parish magazine. A copy of the story was framed and hangs on the north wall of the chancel. This story is reproduced here in its entirety. The Story of the Mural Paintings. The Subject of the Paintings is Worship, represented as a movement towards the Altar (Offering), and a movement from the Altar (Mission).

The Church is located on the corner of Cricklade Road and Ferndale Road, the Church Hall is right next to the Church. There is pedestrian access from Ferndale Road (no steps) and Cricklade Road (through the gate between the Church and the Church Hall – two steps). There are also free car parks nearby.
