To take it he had to get a ladder and clamber up onto the station roof but it was certainly worth the effort. It shows just how far the platform extension has come over the last couple of weeks. Anyway in the end it did stop raining and I drove up through the floods on Nateby Road. When I got there it wasn't as bad as I'd feared - there were some small ponds formed near the Tebay Platform extension but not the lake I had anticipated. Due to personal circumstances 'Railway Roundabout' has been 'off air' for three years but I think that the time has come to resurrect this 'blog' - although probably on an occasional rather than a regular basis. 2011 is the 150th anniversary of the first passenger trains to operate on the route, and during the year steam trains will be running again in this quiet corner of Cumbria.
