Holmes, Charles William. 1 Sunnybank, East Street. Charles William Holmes – 1 Sunny Bank, East Street. Charles William Holmes was born in October 1895. He was the son of Charles William and Sarah Ann (Rippin). He was an ironmonger’s errand boy and his father was an ironmonger’s fitter. He had two sisters, Elsie Ann born in 1897 who was a dressmaker’s apprentice and Evelyn May born in 1901 still at school. In 1901 they were at 5 Priory Buildings but by 1911 they were living at 1 Sunny Bank, East Street.
