susie's paper alchemy: May 2015
http://paperalchemy-susie.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 30, 2015. Male birthday cards are often difficult to design and not be boring with just a sentiment! With these I have tried some different techniques - fussy cutting, die cutting and direct to stamp colouring. I have also tried to mix the colours up a bit from the 'traditional' blue, brown and green! Stampin' Up cardstock in sahara sand, bashful blue and very vanilla. An SU sentiment in chocolate chip, summer starfruit and bashful blue. The patterned paper is from my stash. Links to this p...

http://paperalchemy-susie.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-first-christmas-ornament-of-year.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. My First Christmas Ornament of the Year. This was an idea I saw on that marvelous resource called Pinterest. The pin that inspired my version was from 'paperedcottage.blogspot.com', but there are many variations out there. Just remember to set yourself strict time limits when entering the 'rabbit hole' of Pinterest. Trust me - you can lose hours if you are not careful! On a Personal Note -. My daughter made strawberry french toast rollups for breakfast and chicken yakatori for di...

Tuesday, January 27, 2015. I love, love, love this framelit collection from Stampin' Up. It has a matching stamp set too. If you have time have a look at some of the amazing paper ornaments people have made with this combo on the Splitcoast Stampers website. Unfortunately it is no longer available from SU but ebay may be useful! This first card is very non-traditional! I call this one my regal luxe version! On a Personal Note -. Australia - definitely a land of extremes! Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny ...

http://paperalchemy-susie.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 27, 2015. The trend the last while has been for using banners/flags. I am still enjoying playing around with size - width/length and colour/texture and quantity. The following cards all use them in variations on these themes. You don't have to have special tools to do this (although there are some lovely ones around! This first one uses different widths, patterns and lengths layered. It uses all SU products. One banner as the focal point. All SU except for the spotty paper. Same Die - Diffe...

It's images are adorable.

Sunday, January 27, 2013. Boy meets Girl - 28/1/2013. Another Boy meets Girl Challenge. Same stamp, or set, to make a boy card and a girl card. Today's theme is - baby card. Just by changing up the colour highlights you can change the recipient. For a baby girl. I made the colour palette a bit softer and used pink as the highlight colour. For a more modern baby you could go with hot pink, lavender or purple. I must apologise for this looking so yellow! Other - basic pearls. It's raining steadily here - l...

Wednesday, June 10, 2015. My daughter asked for some help making some 'welcome baby' cards and it got me all inspired! Numbers 5 and 6: SU cardstock in very vanilla, bashful blue (ret) and pink pirouette. Cuttlebug 'hail spot' embossing folder. SU 'teeny t...Night...
