STACC supports health care for children and mothers. Support from STACC has made a major contribution to the national control of intestinal worm infections in school-age children. Health care is provided through mobile clinics and focuses on dealing with malaria and respiratory infections in children under five years of age. Funds are sent to help cover the costs of running the Children's Ward at St Kizito Hospital, Matany. Children are brought to the clinics with a range of medical conditions.

STACC was founded in September 1992 as a charitable company limited by guarantee of charitable status and not having a share capital (Company Number SC140214). STACC is registered as a Scottish Charity (SC020553) and functions in compliance with the requirements of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
